As a former member of one of those camps, I can tell you it is a conspiracy and it sickened me. They are lunatics, maddened and hardened by frog elixirs that lead to hallucinations.

Hold on, I’m about to join one of those camps... are you telling me it isn’t like summer camp? That’s what we Australians imagine it will be, camp fires, hot dogs, crafts, music making and fun and games for all ages....who are these lunatics and what are these frog  elixirs of which you speak?

I like the new random policy for TP/Warner campers. But I'm a noobie to TBF and wonder how 750 numbers will match up to the number of campers in TP and Warner? Is 750 enough numbers that every camper can get a number or will they run out at some point and leave some of the campers without a number?  Maybe my question is asked more simply by asking how many TP and Warner camping passes were sold?

I believe it's 1200 but it doesn't include kids 12 and under, and I doubt that every camper will be laying down a tarp.
There may be anywhere from 2 to 8 camp members on a tarp. Thumbs Up

So do the campers coming in from Lawson get one of the 750 numbers as well?  Or are those numbers only for Town Parkers?  If so does that mean people not camping in Town Park will automatically have to wait for the 750 people to go in?

The original post clearly states that numbers on the TP/WF side will be given to people wearing wristbands from either of those campgrounds ONLY. NO numbers will be handed to persons wearing a children's wristband. It does not say that a TP or WF wristband can not get in line on the town side, which is good because many who have TP and WF so they can come into the campground later, but often have lodging in town.

Or thinking about it another way ...
Many years I either get a high number or get in line at the end, after everyone who has a number, since our group enjoys being further back.  When handing them out sequentially, I want to say the numbers generally only go into the 200s huh.  I think it's likely that not all of the 750 numbers will get handed out (the line will form sequentially, with big gaps between numbers).  Or camps will send 5 or 10 people to get a number when they normally would only have a few people in line.  Meaning people will lineup with their lowest number and return or re-give unused higher numbers.

"Numbers will be distributed each morning of the Festival between 7am and gates open at the TP/WF entrance."

*The exact time of the number hand-out will be determined by the staff member handing out the numbers and will likely vary from day to day.

It is my understanding that runners with numbers are to be lined up about 30 mins ahead of gates open? IIRC they open at 10 on Thurs, 9 the other 3 days? Dustin? confirm please?

Cindy,
I believe the gates open at 10 on Thursday and Sunday, 9 on Friday & Saturday.

And Barry, we are thinking the same. Camps will send as many adults as possible for numbers, but only run their lower numbers. I also have not seen line numbers above 200 on the campground side, so there will be big gaps between runners.

right, but if folks have to be in line by 30 mins ahead of gates, then the numbers theoretically will be distributed from 7 until 30 mins before gates. Dustin or Brian, can you clarify please?

yea and I think that will be a problem if someone shows up with #150 and the next one is #600 then how long will they have to wait to see if the "gaps" get filled in? I think if you are in line with a number then you shouldn't get bumped back for late arrivals to the line. That will cause some issues.

I mean, what if #5 is the first one to line up at the gate, and then minutes before gates 1,2,3, and 4 show up? They only let in a few at a time so again, this will be interesting to see how it goes down.

People with numbers are supposed to line up 30 minutes ahead of time,  so that should give a little time to sort things out.  But that part isn't really any different than it has been in the past.  People have always left after they got their number and then come back to get in line, and the line just moves back as people fill in   I don't think it will be an issue.  It'll be a little crazy for a bit, but it'll get sorted out.  Once they do it a few times people will get a feel for where they  need to be.

Much easier to do with sequential numbers. These will be random, so who knows how big the gaps might be between numbers. If they do them soon after 7a.m. it will be easier, but they have left a pretty wide time slot to hand them out. He said it would depend on when the planet employees get there to distribute them anytime between 7 and gates open. I interpret that as between 7 and at least 30 mins before gates so they can be in line by then.

It’s been done at RG for years the exact. Same. Way. It’s a non-issue. People are smart enough to get in line sequentially even when gaps exist. This is not the Planet’s first rodeo. No one wants to work harder than they have to, so getting #s handed out with sufficient time to line up is going to be a priority.
