Now this I will have to print out before i hit the road....
I started thinkin this was a bad joke of which I was told the wrong day and time, like that commercial......YIKES EEK! LOL A flash mob of one LOL
The first time I saw that commercial I thought about this topic! Pretty funny.

EeeKK!  So not only is the song now haunting my every waking and sleeping moment, but ever since I saw that commercial, there's been the added anxiety of "FLOP!".
Eff it.  If there are 4 of us playing the song, we'll own it.
If there are 40 of us playing, that will be awesome and we will own it, all of us    :)
I'm going to be there.
Still waiting on some more info on the workshop schedule at the park to determine our starting time, but there has been mention on the facebook invitation of 'crashing' the end of the instrument building workshop on Sat. morning.  (Deep Breath..... an audience?!?!)

I will post a very special "Angeline You Baker" informational paper plate at both Will Call and at the Town Park central bathrooms.  If in doubt, look there.

Also, anyone who wants to meet up for a somewhat-less-spectacular-but-still-very-cool practice sesh, here are some ideas:
Town Park citizens, 6/14 at the homebrew fest.  1 PM.
Everyone:
Wed afternoon, 4 PM.
&/or Friday at 12 noon. To disband before the Strigdusters hit the stage at 1.
Bike corrals at Will Call.

How fun it will be to meet all of you!  In less that 2 weeks!

OK,  fellow flashers... Im looking for some input.

Should we do this thang at 10 AM, finishing just in time For Bobby, Michael, Rick to begin their instrument building workshop,

Or should we be a little braver and 'Crash' the end of the workshop, around 11:30?  That could be great -- I'll raise my bow to ask a question.... and we're off (assuming they call on me...hehe)

I want to do whatever the majority feels will work best... so let us know!

Also, I'm thinking 5x thru is too little.  Lets just blow it up & see how long it goes... Or Sara Watkins shuts us up with a bitchin solo :)

Well since these are the fine men that helped me build my Mandolin I say we crash em at 11:30. Is that for the practice or the real deal?

after the workshop... We can enlist Bobby and Michael to help us out... They have control of the PA at that point.

The overwhelming majority wants to crash the end of the workshop :)  Hippie, any help you might lend to enlisting Bobby & Michael (are you out there..ere...ere..ere?) in doing a gentle little lead in to the song... perhaps in response to a particular, predetermined question from the audience, for example? That would be the coolest.

11:30 AM (ish) Sat. morning is the Official Time to participate in the Flash Mob at Elks Park!  We will hopefully have some guidance from the guys onstage.  Otherwise, we (I) will follow the momentum of the workshop.  For example, if there is a hearty Q & A happening at exactly 11:30, then we might delay up to 7 minutes or so to let that happen.  Be there at 11:30
I'm counting on God to tell me when the moment is right... heh.. no, really... and also, heh...

So.. this is no lie... I had a dream last night that I ran my ass off to make it to our flashmob (9:30 start time in my dream?!?!)  and left my fiddle behind in Town Park.  (The show went on!)  Harrowing, I tell you.  Frown

If you'd like, meet me around Will Call at 10 AM for a warm up, and we'll walk over together, enjoy the workshop, then do it to it.
If you're confident that you can jump into the song when you hear it,we will see you there!

Whoop!
