Anyone attending this? I know it is not quite bluegrass related, but it should be a great time. There is a pretty stellar line-up and cant forget the cajun cooking. Thumbs Up

I love it up there. Small town, great people. My girlfriend's aunt works at KGNU and lives in Gold Hill, so she always keeps us informed on the happenings. The Inn has a really nice grass area with picnic tables and plenty of room to sprawl. Along with a very nice outdoor stage. I saw oakhurst and blue canyon boys up there about a month ago for the Sawtelle mountain jam they do every year. The labor day event is put on by KGNU, and there is always cheap local brews and delicious cookin'. Plus the sound resonates wonderfully, due to the location. Here are the details:

WASHBOARD CHAZ BLUES TRIO
Former Gold Hill Mayor , Chaz returns for a visit from his home in New Orleans.
His trio, featuring Andy Forest on Harmonica and St Louis Slim on guitar; was recently seen on HBO & The Discovery Channel
JOCKAMO
A Rockin' seven piece New Orleans style party band
THE ZYDECOASTERS
featuring Joe Jogerst formerly of Leftover Salmon & Gerry Cavagnaro of Zukes Of Zydeco
Menu Features Pan Fried Catfish & Jambalaya with all the fixins!!
$15 for music - $12 more for food - kids under 12 half price

Gold Hill Inn Music events

It is well worth the short mountain drive, only about 15 minutes outside of boulder. I have never been let down by any of the performances I have been to up there. pickin

Positive vibes for all the folks being evacuated out of Gold Hill because of the big wildfire right now.

I can see the smoke really thick in the sky just hanging over the valley. The winds were just off the charts this morning in my canyon.
I hope they get a break soon and get this under control.

Watching and hope everyone gets out of dodge....

We were turned away as we were on our way up the mountain. It burned right up to the backyard of the house we were on our way too.

Been waiting around this morning for updates from the family.
