Whoops, my bad! We are going to both RRE and Crooked Still.

I was wondering how you were going to pull that one off!!  Wink  Crooked Still is cheeper, so perhaps I will go that way.  Greensky Bluegrass was here a few months but i haven't seen Crooked Still live before.

I'm hoping to see RRE, but did not do the lottery (got on the Telluride Bandwagon the day after the lottery  Frown So if i find a ticket that is great, if not, next time i guess.

Greensky just played in Az last week (thurs) and they were freakin AMAZING!! Not to mention they're some of the nicest, down to earth guys out there..
~ I'll definitely be at their Sheridan show.. My two cents!

Crooked Still; I like Greensky quite a bit (and looking forward to seeing them on the main stage) but Crooked Still has a unique sound you won't hear from anybody else. Greensky while freakin' good plays the sound of progressive bluegrass circa 2009. You'll hear plenty of it at Telluride.

Greensky 100%!!!

These guys are just playing some INCREDIBLE music right now, VERY high energy and I am banking on some great sit in's.

Nothing against Crooked Still, but that Sheridan late show is gonna be a rager!!!

 Cheers

maaaaaaaaannnnnnn...........
im having the same dilemma! i love both of these bands and have never seen either one. ive liked greensky for a while now and can't wait to see them, and on the other hand, i've just been turned onto crooked still. they are so sweet!
now, decisions, decisions, decisions........ might have to shoot for both, might have to go for crooked still, might have to go with greensky.........
either way, i'll be cathcin them at festival...... maybe i'll marinate on it for a few more....

You may want to check out if either are in your town anytime soon. If one band is, go see the other while at TBF!

For my money, I went with Greensky. That's not to take anything away from Crooked Still, its just that Greensky is ON FIRE and if they are tearin' up the tour venues the way they are, my mind spins at the possibilities that might occur at a Sheridan show in Telluride!

Either way you will see a damn good show.

BOTH are awesome bands! Great sounds that, in my opinion, are original.  I think that Crooked Still has their own style, largly created by adding the cello to the traditional bluegrass instruments.  I also think that Greensky has their own sound, possibly developed by the songwriting of mandolin player, Paul Hoffman.

In the end, this is a HELL of a delema.  Personally, I am mighty excited to see both of these bands at the actual festival.  When it comes to Nightgrass though, you will find me at the Greensky show.  As has been stated, Greensky is on FIRE lately and Five Interstates(their latest album) was one of the best of 2008.  Not to mention, the Sheridan Opera House is just so damn incredbile.
