Wave - OK you asked for it  LOL
I'm really supposed to be cleaning house and yard before winter sets in. Designing a festival from your suggestions is way more fun. Since Craig has several months to make this happen, here is my first pass at the TBF 2009 Telluride Bluegrass Festival Lineup, I've used your suggestions and added a few of my own.

:peace

Yes, indeed a great first attempt at a lineup. I have to comment about one glaring omission: Yonder Mountain String Band. (I guess Sam is not an omission if he is playing with NGR but otherwise that is the next big omission).

SIN is sooo close to the house band lineup though (then again I'd be ok with the house band playing multiple times :-p)

I just HAVE to throw out Dread Clampitt.  I fell in love all over again when I put their cd back in my rotation this week.  A tweener, or something for these guys!  I met them down in Destin and they were awesome.

Here's my wish list, for what it's worth:

~ RAILROAD EARTH

~ Cormeal

~ Greensky Bluegrass

~ Honkytonk Homeslice

~ Emmitt Nershi Band

~ Old Crow Medicine Show

~ David Grisman

~ Hot Buttered Rum String Band

~ Tony Furtado

Just think...
1) Drew sit-in with Honkytonk Homeslice? Umm, WOO HOOOOOO!!
2) Greensky plays an amazing cover of Floyd's "Time" (Don't believe me? Check this out.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cctQ7FPtJ8k . Just please ignore my not so great video and singing along, lol!!).. Of course you might also remember they won the TBF band contest in 2006.
3) Timmy (Carbone, from RRE) & Alli (from Cornmeal) 'dueling' fiddles.. They did it at High Sierra and we were all blown away!! Those two are freaking AMAZING together..

HEADLINE BLUEGRASS BAND from Phx, Az!!!!!!!

Some of you might recognize the name for a few reasons:

1) They won first place in the Band Contest at Pickin In the Pines 2008, in Flagstaff Az last month!!
2) Their banjo player, Tyler Walls took first place at the 2008 Rockygrass Banjo Contest in Lyons and won a gorgeous banjo!!
3) This lovely board's very own Cletus, aka Nathan plays an awesome upright bass with them!

Please trust me when I say that these boys are traditional bluegrass at its FINEST!!!
