oh my goooooooooiiiiiiiidddddddddddddd . . . that looks so yummmmyyyyyyyy! i'm thinking maybe CSI should consider deep frying our T-day turkey . . . YUM!

Oh yeah!  We need to start planning that little Thanksgiving Festival.  I'd be up for an "All Deep Fried" dinner spread.  Can you deep fry your green bean casserole?

absolutely.  Just take fist fulls of green bean casserole and dip them in a thick beer batter then fry 'em up.

My neighborhood is pretty inspired by my new toy.  Brad from Tiki-bar and I came up with the idea of having a deep-fry party.  Potluck over whatever you want and we'll fry it.

And drink beer of course.

*buuurrrrppppp* Cheers

Wave Hey you must of used that fryer in the  correct way Jess...
I have wanted one for forever but have only heard really negative feedback...

Too much shortening,, overflow,, fire hazzard..
But looks like you had it under control... You can be my river guide any day Jess Flower

My bacon days are coming to a close I'm afraid. I saw a film on animal rights and it really disturbed me. I love my dog more than most people I know ,,soooo maybe I'm just a little hyper sensitive but none the less... just starting to feel wrong for me.
It's gonna be difficult because I love a good steak and I will have to learn about complete protiens... wanna stay strong .... forever Medal
I like bacon Medal LOL

I can understand where you are coming from and totally support your decision.  It would be so much better for the planet if we all thoughtfully considered not only what we eat but where it comes from.

Best of luck with this transition.  It is a huge change for sure! Flower Flower

Hey Hooch   Thumbs Up

The deep fried idea is really good, until you get to the crunchy frog.... Please don't try deep frying the crunchy frog - unless it's of the amphibious variety after coating with macadamia nuts.

Can't we do some sort of deep fried morsel with a Crunchy Frog center?  Kind of like the alcohol-filled chocolates you can buy except deep fried with bacon.  We've got several months to perfect the recipe.

Combining all these ideas, this is what I think.....

Get some frog legs.  De-bone them.  fill them with Crunchy Frog and seal the ends.  Dip the Crunchy Frog filled frog legs in a thick beer batter.  Then wrap with a piece of bacon.  Deep fry at 350 degrees for probably no more than 7 minutes.

Frog legs?  From real frogs?  I like the concept in general but am having a bit of a problem getting past the Kermit The Frog and Doc Hopper images from The Muppet Movie.

Crunchy Frog (the drink) is very lemony.  Does lemon go good with frog legs?  Actually...does bacon go good with lemon?  Perhaps not.  How about we try a hooch filler instead?  Maybe we should do hooch-filled deep-fried frog-leg batter-n-bacon nuggets.

actual being a girl with southern roots I can tell you frog legs are yummy and taste a lot like chicken.  lemon and chicken go very well together and I think if you use a slightly sweeter smoked maple bacon for this dish the combination of flavors will be delightful.  I think when folks bite into a deep-fried-frog-leg-batter-n-maple bacon- nugget and get that burst of lemony Crunchy Frog exploding across their palates....it will be the culinary hit of the decade.
