Pardon if this is rude, but if some of us wanted to keep an eye out for lodging for you, would you feel comfortable sharing what price range in US$ would work for you? Feel free to PM me if you are ok sharing but don't want to do so publicly. We want you there!!

You are extremely kind!

I'm sorry to say that we cancelled our trip today.

It has been a terrible week with a death in the family and another family member very unwell. The cancellation of our Telluride accommodation was too much. We were able to get a reasonable refund on our fares if we cancelled today, any delay meant we lost most of it.

It was a very hard decision to make but we felt as though it was too big a gamble after we lost the booking and there was nothing in town we could afford at this late stage.

I will DEFINITELY be there in 2018. I can't believe I'm missing this year. Getting there has pretty much felt like my full time job this year. I think I am the only person who has studiously watched youtubes of every performer at this year's gig. I'm so disappointed, I love this festival and I love the festivarians.

So much festivarian love to everyone. And I reckon Parker Millsap is going to blow you away.

Will try very hard not to cry. It has been a tough week all round.

I hope you guys have the most amazing time.

I'm so sorry this has happened Lesley.  Flower  You've been such a passionate and enthusiastic voice on the Forum as well as at the Fest. Duc Tape will miss you this year, and several of us will miss you at your favorite night grass!

2018 for sure and let us know how we can help. Even scouting out possible lodging for next year while we are there.
Big hugs :hug :hug

What a sad state of affairs. :sorry

We will be thinking about you every day of the festival and wish that you could be with us. Flower

The only good thing now is that you have more time to find your accommodations for next year. Thumbs Up

My condolences for your loss and prayers for you families. Angel

This makes me sad. Frown

I will DEFINITELY be there in 2018.

This makes it slightly better.

Sorry for all the troubles. I hope things turn around for you soon, and we'll look forward to seeing you next year!

Thanks Dustin. I am definitely your biggest fan from Australia. The only thing that makes me feel better is that I have sent two young Aussies off for their first time. I know they will love it and will spread the word.

Have a fantastic time festivarians, I will miss you all so very much but I wish you the best time. It is a life affirming and wonderful celebration and my goodness we so need that these days. Peace and love. Flower Flower

Let's Pick!

I know it is NOT Telluride, but you may be interested in making plans to attend this festival in Eureka Springs Arkansas. It's a small festival in the same vibe as TBF. The acts are 90% bluegrass with a single main stage. You can camp at the festival, or stay in nearby historic Eureka Springs (which may be one of the most unique towns in the world, a hidden hippie hold out). This years fest is loaded with the top names in the Jamgrass scene like GSBG YMSB, Leftover, Stringdusters, Keller, Railroad Earth and others. Definately worth checking out. If anyone is going and staying in Town, look up Basin Park Hotel, the New Orleans, or the many "haunted" hotels in historic downtown.

It's a bit of a drive, but try Ouray, Ridgway or Montrose.

Sorry, I'm an Australian

I'm terrified of driving on your roads

You drive on the wrong side!

Seriously - we are only interested in being in town and walking everywhere. It is the essence of the TBG experience and I love walking home after Nightgrass and smiling and talking with other festivarians.

So incredibly sad to miss it this year

Thank you

Just like having a Plane ticket and being dragged off a plane huh. Has anyone questioned their rights? I mean reserved should be reserved. Rolleyes

I had a condo reserved and they moved my condo unit to a very badly worn and malfunctioning  unit. That was the last time I attended
I took the time to reserve it before I left town for the next year. Man if that's not reserved in advance I don't know what is.

I feel ya ....disappointed I am sure. I know I was.

But good thing the music and surrounding are extra fantastic. See you next year Medal.

Exactly. The horrible thing is that Air bnb cancelled my accommodation for Telluride one week and for our big festival here ( Byron Bay Bluesfest) THE DAY BEFORE! Seriously - a festival with 100,000 people, accommodation booked and paid for nine months in advance both times. It is not a coincidence and I will never trust them again. So sad. I would never treat anyone that way.

See you next year with love and respect, gave a wonderful festival xx

AF, we have had to miss several TBFs in the past. One salvation for us has been the fact that KOTO broadcasts almost the entire festival over the Internet. Now I know that for you it probably starts in the middle of the night at the beginning of winter so you may not be able to do what we do. We spend almost the entire time of the festival outside with the festival playing non-stop. You will find that you can actually grab on to a portion of the magic just by listening.......close your eyes......and yiu are there! So sorry for your woes!
