Yeah Hooch. I can't count the times I've driven 100 miles across the big Rez and turned around to go back home to get my tickets, torn apart the house looking for them just to find them in the glove box.

Which leads me to sharing what we do with tickets to ANYTHING.  In my home office, on the shelf (up high, away from kids) is a very special copy of Dr. Seuss's "Oh, the Places You'll Go".  As soon as we get our tickets, we put them in there, and they stay there until we leave home.

At least if we turn around, we only have 1 place to look when we get home

Hooch,
Actually, I do know what you mean!  LOL

Take heart, you're not taking me with you. Now, you were in my wake but I think for the most part you've caught up!

So... before I start this Safari in June, can you give me any pointers on tracking a Western Slope Little Red Hippo? I know the Eastern LRH are very elusive. I've only spotted three this year. There was a rumored sighting in North Florida, but alas, the spotter was stoned on Enchantment.

Hope,

The Western Slope Little Red Hippo is, pound for pound, the most ferocious animal in these parts...especially if you corner them and try to take away their chocolate.  They are most definitely elusive creatures who can be most appreciated if observed from a distance in their natural environment (a music festival) performing instinctual acts like grooming themselves, blowing dandylions, and sniffing out bits of chocolate.

You may want to bring Binoculars to the festival in order to observe the wild hippo population as well as other interesting native live and bands.  Note how eloquently I brought my post back on-topic!!

One way to get a closer look at this western slope LRH is to bring "FAIRY DUST" ... these creatures cannot resist the shimmer of fairy dust and/or glitter ... though purportedly ferocious, they are even more prone to being extremely vain! Butterfly

OMG, you may be Daniela's long lost twin.  I just know I'll be shaking glitter out of all my camping stuff for weeks after TBF.

Glitter is the herpes of the arts and crafts world....can't ever get rid of it completely

Fairy dust is like Grand Canyon Sand, you'll never be completely rid of it once it's in your gear. Nonetheless, I seem to always be carrying extra  Thumbs Up

I really can't live without all of my Run a Muck buddies to share the treat of festival with me   Love

I once hid my car keys in the freezer before a friend drove me to festival because I had my tix in a ziplock bag in same freezer before leaving. Once home, I of course, completely forgot that the car keys were in the freezer. Oh the post festival drama that ensued  LOL LOL LOL

Oh Dear, what memories this has brought back from my first year at TBF.... 2007. Those Western Slope Little Red Hippos sure are dangerous creatures, as Hooch indicated.

Since that time we've created an "observation deck", The Hippo Campus , where one can watch all sorts of festi-creatures roam the range of Town Park from the Eastern safety of the Fish Pond Feeder Creek.  Fish

At Hippo Campus we can't live without Going Green at TBF. Reclaimed, Reused & Recycled camping items are the camp goal.  :green What can you do to live without buying new items for FESTIVVVAAALLL!!! ????????????

Y'all stop by now, ya hear!  Thumbs Up
