I'm thinking no.   Lots of folks on the Planet were involved in the Phish Telluride gigs in '11, and from all I heard, I can't imagine they would unleash that on us.   It has nothing to do with the music.  The fact is that regardless of how difficult it is to get to Telluride, and how few tickets there would be for the horde, the touring horde would pour into town in parallel with the usual Festivarian crowd.
<snip>
I'm going to be a naysayer until proven otherwise....I'll even call the whole idea trollbait.
I wouldn't mind seeing phish. I missed the show in Cleveland last year because I was at TBF. That said, and in spite of my previous comment about SCI, I guarantee heavy wook presence if phish is on the bill. HuckinFappy is right about that. I would use the term "inundated" to describe the effect of a phish presence on the town. No thanks for that... though I would love the music.

you guys are silly. phish shows these days consist more of mid 30's guys and people with families. they grew up listening to phish in the 90's and early 2000's. though not a huge fan myself most of my close friends are. they are all professionals with careers and families. not a wook among them. and they still do a lot of phish shows, just not the way they used to do them.  LOL
oh and as for phish actually playing the tbf. not gonna happen. they command way to much money per show. if one would actually think about it, they can do their own festival and make 5 times the money. which they have done over the years, and will do this year. think hawaii.  it's their 30th anniversary this year and they are going to do something really special festival wise, just not at telluride. oh and i know this because my uncle's best friends sister's cat told him so. the cat has a direct line to mike gordons cat, which also  shares esp capabilities with trey and pages cat, who heard this through a stray cat that lives in the alley behind planet bluegrass. billy from sci does not have a cat or i would know what their plans are also.

thing is, phish has played other people's festivals in 3.0, breaking their norm a little bit. outside lands, bonaroo, etc. that said, i dont think it will be phish. if it is i would be very stoked, though their festival sets leave something to be desired, i for one, would LOVE if they did an acoustic set. their acoustic set at festival 8 was a highlight for me.

I don't expect the glow-stick-hating crowd to be too thrilled by this.

Cheese is alright. It will be fun, though I must say I'd prefer someone more legendary.

Will be interesting to see how many of the MDMA-sorority-cheese-heads make the treck. Hopefully not many.

The "source" of this rumor, who then created a thread about the open rumor, should probably have their festivarians cut off and placed in a jar, so that we may all restore our faith in the sanctity of blog threads about potential additions to music festivals.  On a more serious note, I was saddened to hear that SCI just disbanded over incessant questions about TBF.

This is unnecessary and uncalled for...if I could report this as abuse I would, but somehow cannot. In all truthfulness, you are contributing ZERO to this conversation with comments like this

I'm a mandatory reporter for abuse victims, so I will add myself to my list right behind the run I made the other night when a grandmother put her disabled 5 y/o grandson's hand in a meat grinder.  But on a more serious note, it's Marilyn Manson acoustic with Aimee Mann.  And I agree that this is unnecessary and uncalled for....

Would it be possible to bring the :hooch down, so we can get back to being excited about this event and the two TBA bands?

Just a thought.  Thumbs Up

FWIW - Neil Young's tour dates page has a placeholder for a show on June 23rd (Sunday) during a 3-week gap in their tour schedule.

http://www.neilyoung.com/tour.html

TBF would be unlikely, but a guy can dream, right?

It's not that unlikely given Craig has tried for years and years to get him

OK back on track here.

Hearing more and more talk that SCI is confirmed for the Festival. Believe the hype people!  Thumbs Up

I am also hearing that 1 maybe 2 nightgrass shows are likely in the works. So the naysayers can help guess the other TBA act, whom I'm going to guess is Mumford & Sons.

I am still very confused why PBG would wait until all tickets are sold out to annouce the remaining headliners? Especially like SCI who not only has extensive history with Telluride and the festival, but also a lot of Colorado history. I don't feel it is going to prevent the ticketless from trying to attend because it is going to make more ticketless SCI fans. Although I don't think the ticketless will cause that many problems, as obviously they didn't show up for the heated Phish appearance in Telluride, I do feel by preventing the diehard SCI fans from obtaining tickets is going to likely cause some backlash for how the ticket sales were done this year.

And I hope the 2nd band is some one my wife loves (Mumford?), so she can as excited as I'll be.
