How did you know there was bacon under my pillow??  Now that you've squealed it to the whole internet I'm going to have to find a new hiding place.

Ron, before you go "bumping" all over the forum, maybe you should 'splain to the folks that "Bump" means "Bring up my post."  Otherwise they may think you're a coke freak or a disco freak or a bump skier.  Either way we still love ya!

In Hooch's case, it could mean "bacon under my pillow."  In many others it could mean "beers under my pillow" or "booze under my parka."

You Say "Freak" like its a bad thang !!

Lots of new folks to the forum - - lots of people looking for advice on what to do/what to expect for Telluride - - this was a great, albeit old, string of questions and answers . . .

Couple of TBF & TP Virgins here! Wave We lucked out and won TP passes as well as a vehicle pass! Absolutely Stoked!! We'll be arriving on Thursday 9th with our pop-up camper to enjoy town before the festival. I lived here in '86 & '87 and can't wait to show my family how beautiful T-Ride is. The string, all 24 pages =P, has been very helpful in getting a feel of what to expect but I've a couple of questions still...

1) If all the marked sites are taken when we arrive, where can we stay with our pop up till the rope drops on Sat.?
2) Where is the closest propane refill location to TP?

21 days till we get there... but who's counting!!! Woo hoo

Peace, Love & Ukulele...

You'll have to come in and "rent" a space from Town Park Campground proper. Just check in with the folks already in camp and I'm sure you'll find helping hands and a great spot for the pop-up camper.

Can't wait to meet you and the family!

Make sure you bring enough propane for your stay. The closest propane is 4 or 5 miles away and after the festival starts you won't be able to drive and I don't think they will let you on the bus with a propane bottle. I suggest renting a large contractor bottle for a couple of weeks. Cheers
good luck see you in TP

Ask around if you run out, some camps will have extra extra full bottle to trade for your empty + plus some cash. Several of the larger, more organized, camps also have access to a vehicle with a barricade pass for a propane run down valley.

Tom...

I have not been able to find any info on the set up / line for Warner.  I know it's open at 9am on Wed, but does a line form early ??  Is it better to park across town and stand in line with a few critical camping items and wait for the opening, or wait till 9am to show up and unload gear ?

I'm not T-Tom, but I'll give this a stab anyway....

Yes, a line forms early.. and yes, get in line with at least a tarp to put down and mark your real estate, and something to hold it in place (maybe a full person to stand atop if possible)  until you can get back with more camping gear.
