Besides the river, where can we fill our water jugs?  I think I read in some very old posts there are sinks behind the bath house...is that correct?  Are there any other locations out in TP/Bear Creek camping area?

Jimmy

Wouldn't use the river for drinking. There are sinks at the old bathhouse good for dishes and potable water spigots by the old bathhouse and the playground/ballpark.

Thank you - I was on mobile last night and was having a hard time with search!

I tried searching around just now and can't tell exactly where the two ends of Bear Creek Preserve are.  Can somebody help me out with that please?  Also, in searching around I've seen both 8am and 9am.  Which is correct?

Yeah, its hard with a phone!

There's a map of town park on the 3rd page of topics. Look at that , yyou see where Kamp Duk Tape and Maple Alley is? One gate is just below that heading back towards the main campground. The other is on the right side, you can see the dirt road wrapping around that big building, then look for camps the herd & Town Hall. You can see the gate in the photo.  Thumbs Up

Perfect - thank you!  Does this look right?

Where does everybody park before lining up?  Also, could you please confirm the time?  I just saw another post from Deb n Ron saying 8:30.

HaHa, you are way better at that than me ... though I was using my phone!  Wink

The locator at the bottom right is good. The other one isn't on the same dirt road, you actual loop around to the left to get into the campground then go by Fishbone and Wander In then up to Duk Tape and Maple Alley, well just below. There are some trees obscuring the path. The road kinds ends and is just a walking path right there. If I was skilled like you, I'd put MY mark on the map!!

Culas,

The entrance at the bottom by the herd is easier to drive to and unload, but it's further from the Primitive area, if tha's where you are headed. Primitive is on the other side of Bear Creek and the bridge is in the main campground. Just gets to be a bit of a cluster in there.

I, too, am a virgin. I have been jamming at music festivals for a long time and look forward to doing the same at TBF. I was only able to get a parking pass for one of the off-site campgrounds. It's the one that requires a 4 day pass. Is there jamming at that campground? Are there any unofficial rules or things I should know about jamming circles? Is it too late to get a camping pass for Town Park or Warner Field so I can jam at the closer-in locations, as I'll be staying in town.

I greatly appreciate any help,

Jeff

Welcome Jeff  Wave

Well come on in so we can pop that cherry ... I promise we'll be gentle  EEK!
There are passes that come available. All of us buy and sell here on the forum, down in The Shop section. You have to be logged in to see that section. It is getting a bit late and I haven't been following those threads lately, but a chance. You can swing by and hang with all of us up until Thursday morning. Then you'll need a wrist band. People also post tickets for sale on a board across from the box office.

The only rule I'm aware of for the picking circles is - NO DRUMS!
Wish you luck!
 Cheers

Welcome Scrogan Family  Wave

As a TP newbie I would opt for Tuesday morning. It will appear that there are no spots left, but you need to walk around and talk with people. You'll meet some great people and often you'll get invited to camp with others. IMO, that's harder to do in the dark, and more stressful not knowing the lay of the land. The primitive area on the other side of Bear Creek often has spots after Saturday, but again, befriending those around you yields good results, especially if have something to offer!  Wink

Hope that helps!

Wow that is so disheartening...I can't believe there will be no spots by Tuesday morning and we have to "have something to offer" to get one. Seems like that should be better organized? We don't play music and in general don't have anything to offer  huh Where is Bear Creek anyway? It's not on that map and does that mean we have to cross a river each time!? Ugh, I was excited to be in Town Park but now thinking Mary E. Illium would be better...

Also, I read that land rush people can drive up and drop stuff off...can we do that when we arrive Tuesday or do we have to lug everything from the streets? Is Tuesday really that late to get there? We had plans to do a fun road trip since we thought we had time but sounds like we'll have a hard time finding a place if we get there when we wanted...and maybe should re-arrange our plans. Ugh. Not such a happy camper right now... Rolleyes
