I'm posting this after speaking with several long-time Festivarians today.

A. - There is a small concern, because of all the 4-Day Festival Passes that have come back on the market over the last week, that there may have been a few new-to-fest folks that have bought campground passes with out fest passes.

If you have camping for Lawson Hill Campground, please make sure you have Single-Day or a 4-Day Festival Pass. You can NOT access camping or Fest without that additional ticket.

For The High School or Mary Illium Camping you will need a 4-Day pass, along with your camping pass to access those campgrounds and the festi-grounds.

If you have Town Park or Warner Field... you're good. Don't sweat it.

B. There are several Historic Camps within Town Park that are looking for Festi-Virgins/young blood to join their camps for this year and future fests (perhaps they'll chime in here). These camps don't happen by themselves and folks that work from their hearts are needed. Pre-fest planning, Pack-in and Pack-out are crucial times to be available.

If you are new to TBF and would like to join an established camp leave a note here. There's a good chance you''ll get a response and become part of a cherished Festi-Family!

FESTIVVVAAALLL!!!
 Cheers

Newbie here and hope you don't mind some questions -

I don't have festival tickets, camping or transportation but I'm trying to figure out if I can put it all together and be there!  I see tickets available and camping available to buy or trade, I would need to fly in from California and then either rent a car or get transportation from Durango.  I have plenty of camping gear but don't think I can bring my stove on a plane.  And, I'm by myself so would love to make some friends.

So - if there's a camping group I can join, that might be awesome - what does that entail?  I can come early & stay late, and I can cook.

Am I crazy thinking I can pull this together at the last minute?

Skip the plane! great drive, I have made it on my own before not too bad! And then you can bring all of your gear. Good luck on tickets though!

2 days solo driving, each way...I'm just not sure I'm up for it but it could happen...

I guess Festival tickets first, then figure out the rest...I see them on the ticket trade forum, and a few on stubhub.com - hope someone will sell a single 4-day pass.

TopDog,

Please do not pay more than face value for your tickets.  That is really a sore point around these parts.

Top Dog you can do it. You really get to become friends with yourself on the way! The country is gorgeous. In 07 I drove to Moab from Telluride, got in around midnight, then left Moab at 5:00AM drove straight through to Elk Grove, CA in one day. It can be done and if youhave enough in the way of tunes you can cruz easily. Of course I will be driving with two other people this year. I can also recommend the train from Sacramento to Grand Junction....and beg someone for a ride to Telluride! Pirate

Now she just needs a camping pass, which means if she wants to join an established camp it will have to be one that's down valley. Flower
Closer in would be High School camping which would be OK if you don't smoke/drink. Thumbs Up

Well let's see how much "sticker shock" I encounter booking flights...maybe I will drive!  I think my route would be LA to Flagstaff, Flagstaff to Telluride.  Load up on tunes and audiobooks...

Top dog is a she!  Sorry, should remember my forum etiquette and introduce myself.  My name is Anne, I'm a bluegrass (and all kinds of music) fan who has never been to this festival before.  Looking for a summer trip where I can find friendly people I'd enjoy hanging out with, and enjoy some great music in the mountains.  Saw a blurb about TBF in Sunset magazine and a light bulb went on over my head.

Are there established camps in all the campgrounds?  I saw a 4-day pass w/HS camping available.  I actually do like a glass of wine but I suppose I don't have to consume it in the campground.  Or maybe I can trade campground passes with someone.

I believe going through Vegas -> south of Zion (Canab) -> Page -> Cortez -> Telluride is the fastest way, but not by a whole lot & involves a fair bit of navigation through desolate two lane roads.

Heading up to GJ -> Montrose -> Telluride is the "easiest" being on interstates most of the way.

But going through Flag works well too!
