SA, you mean what was posted here in this thread?

For the sake of discussion, I'd like to play devil's advocate to some of these ideas.

With the "repeat offender" idea...

Say someone has been coming for 20+ years and can't make it this year/hasn't made it for the past couple. How do we not exclude those people?

You do exclude those people (but not because you want to).

Set aside a limited number of 4-day passes (say 500-1000) and have a separate Advanced Sales ticket booth inside the grounds. Sell up to a fixed amount each day.

Most people will understand that if they are not present then they can't get the advance tickets (but I bet some of their friends will hook them up).

I actually thought of an idea for this... I was at the match play tournament in Tucson this past week, and they allow you to buy discounted tickets to the next year's event as long as you buy them before you leave.  If each person wearing a wristband were allowed to purchase an identical ticket to the next year's event, we can be a little more confident that the people purchasing these tickets actually intend to attend the event.
Now there's an interesting suggestion even some of the festigeezers would like  Thumbs Up thank You shattered

Yeah, I guess that's pretty much the same... Except it would be limited to one per person.
