The wife and have been known to put down the beer (our dog's name is Porter) Cheers
Any suggestions on how to limit our impact on recycle bins, etc.  We plan on hauling everything we bring in back out with us.  We will bring reusable dishes and water bottles.  I heard if we reuse the same beer cup all weekend we get a bike bell!!  Will do anything for that bike bell!!!  Just need to find away around beer cans/ bottles.  Please don't suggest not drinking.  Would Smuggler's Brewpub have some options?

I just spoke with Smuggler's Pub and yes, they sell growlers. In addition to that, they will do the refill price on other brew pub growlers. Please remember to respect your campground rules re: glass containers if that rule applies.

Just another reason to love the Town of Telluride!  Medal

Wave 5 or 7 gallon kegs work really well, bring them. Just bring a thumb tap and a CO2 set up and you'll be just fine. Be sure to bring many "soda" cans as you are going to make a lot if friends ;-)

i have some sweet pastic 'adventure' growlers from Fitger's Brewhouse in Duluth, Minnesota.  Does anyone know if these can be filled in Colorado?  I took them to Arkansas to a brewpub and they wouldn't fill them.  They said it was state law that the growlers had to come from that brewpub.  Most brewpubs only have glass growlers.  Can we really have glass growlers in the campgrounds?  I'd rather use my plastic jugs, but as long as I can get some growlers and have 'em refilled I'll be happy!

I identified myself as a person coming for Bluegrass in June. Smuggler's has stated that they will fill your growlers at the refill price they normally charge. Bring your growlers Johnny.   Cheers

Thanks guys.  I've been on Smuggler's webpage.  I think growlers are the way to go.  Already dreaming about Espresso Porter.  I'm in Lawson Hill, will glass be allowed?  Would it be a hassle biking/ walking to Smugglers to get refills? Cheers

Midnight Sun in Anchorage has my favorite winter-time beer in a coffee porter.  Could the Espresso Porter give it a run for it's money?  And call me fruity but I'll be gettin' the Raspberry Wheat too!

Sorry, but no glass is allowed at any of the ball field campgrounds (Lawson Hill, High School, & Warner Field).

This is to protect the grounds from broken glass and more importantly the people who utilize the fields the rest of the year that we aren't. Flower

I made a call and the only "source" I have does not use them at their brewery. Best to just do an internet search. Be sure to let us know what you find out! Thanks!

Guess that would depend on how much time had passed since that (non-glass) growler was emptied!  LOL A hassle getting to Smuggler's from Lawson? Honey, nothing is a hassle in Telluride. The views along the Valley Floor are amazing, and when you head into town you're heading into the box canyon. Take it nice and slow the first few days and do not leave camp without your water bottle(s).

Trust me, that first beer is going to hit you hard, but a few days in town, most folks are doing fine. If you can stick to the rule of one water (first) and then one beer you'll be much better off in the long run.
