I was just looking, at the 2010 TBF handbook, and it says no open fires are allowed at all. Does this go for Mary E as well? Cause looking at pictures there seems to be fire pits for people to cook over. Just wondering, as you can tell I am thinking about everything, and trying to stay sane till June. But any help would be grateful, thanks!  Cheers

Yes Mary E has fire rings. Just keep your fires in the rings and all will be good. If they're all taken by the time you get there you'll have to share w thou neighbors  Thumbs Up But thats what it's all about!!! We stayed out there in 07, and got in like several days before the fest. We were one of a first few out there...and couldn't of asked for a better time.. We had a few days of piece n quiet before everyone showed up, and scored a good fire ring and tent spot as well :)

Are there not many fire rings? We are planning on getting there about noon or so on 15th, is that usually too late for getting a primo camping spot?

We got there early Monday last year, and were one of the first. I'd say by noon on Wed., you'll get a decent spot, but all the fire rings will be taken.

I've rolled in at between 10 PM and 3 AM Wednesday night/Thursday morning and still found space.  No fire pit, and it was a little crowded, but we were able to put a couple of small tents down both times.

If you can get there early week, you can get the best spots. Some are really sweet. By Thursday, there's real slim pickins for setting up camp.  Cheers

yeah you def need to be there early if you want a fire ring...i'm thinking it was at least mon when we got in to mary E last time. It's nice to see ppl taking advantage of Mary E over the HS and Ball parks this year... It is further out of town..but way more relaxed and not to mention you're not just stuck in a field. :)
