This will be my fourth year volunteering.. I LOVE to contribute back to this awesome festival by donating a few hours. The kind folks at the Planet are always very understanding and do their best to schedule you so you don't miss your faves..
~ As for Lawson, I camped there my first year (before I discovered the awesomeness that is TP) and we definitely had some fine pickin circles in camp.. Of course it didn't hurt that my group brought along 3 musicians.. LOL

(my fave part is at about the 3 minute mark, when my girl Courtney makes the comment about people sleepin.. or not, haha!)

hey all, just wanted to bump this thread again to keep the volunteer talk going... I was wondering if anyone else is working the cleanup crew? Kinda curious as to how camping will work for us monday/tuesday...

I'm on the clean-up crew too! Wave Not sure 'bout the camping situation either... Flying solo and having a hard time locating a camping spot  Rolleyes

hipchc, that video makes me happy! I can't wait! actually, the more I look at Lawson and Mountain Village, I'm thinking it'll be rad. Rally mountain bikes on those trails to the festival and gondola back if I'm too tipsy to ride  Cheers I'm stoked to pitch in as also - the organizers have been amazing, and I'm sure It'll be a good way to meet folks too! Plus Cleanup lets me see more bands and have days after the fest to explore telluride by bike Thumbs Up

Mooner, I guess the high school is all that's left and going fast. They have a section on the site about area camping if you want to drive: http://www.bluegrass.com/telluride/camping-nonPB.html You might stand a good chance at finding a single ticket on the forum here if you wanna spend the $. Where are you driving in from? If you happen on a Lawson spot, LMK - you're welcome to hang in my group Wave  otherwise I'll see ya tearing down those stages! I feel like that might be an interesting experience after an intense weekend to then help make it all go back to a peaceful scene... Angel

Monday / Tuesday before or after the Festival?
Hi heaubeau (love the handle btw - classy LOL)  I meant after.

I was hoping someone more knowledgeable on the subject would answer that one, I don't have much clue about post festival camping, but am under the impression that Town Park (less the preserve area) and Ilium are the only two campgrounds you can stay at

ya figured TP...maybe they'll have the hookup for us on the fee. I expect nothing to clean up tho (except banjo strings and bacon grease) Rolleyes guess we could grab a spot out of town or Ilium too but I'm hopin to stay on 2 wheels - meh, play it by ear. Thx Hobo!

Although it is possible to Camp in Town Park post-festi, everyone will need to pack out all their gear and then go pay for camping at the Town Park office and set up camp again. I know, bummer, but that's how Telluride rolls.

This is my first time going to Telluride and volunteering.  Who else is volunteering, and does anyone have tips for me?  I want to camp with other folks and don't know the best spots.

This is my first time to the festival and volunteering too!! Glad to know there are other brave newbie souls  Cheers

Fine, Brooke, Debbie, and Moonbeam (including tarp-running hubby & newbie weirdo friend) can all join the KOA as long as a generous offering of bacon is provided.  And speaking of....Debbie, it's almost time to start working up that direct-shipment bacon order from your friends at the bacon farm!!!!  What's their website again?  And do they have any new flavors this year?  I'd love to get some maple flavor!

Oh shoot everyone!  The camping is sold out!  What do I do?

In all seriousness, I can't join Hooch's camp without a ticket, right?

Yikes!

True.  But that may obviously be a blessing in disguise because I'm bad.

But don't worry.  Tickets start popping up in the next couple months.

That's a big no-no in Telluride.
