Long time lurker, first time poster.  Figured there's no time like the present to jump in as everyone is getting ramped up.

Found this interesting while browsing around the intrawebz.

According to Jambase - Railroad Earth @ the Sheridan 06/16/2011.  Would be pretty sweet  Thumbs Up.

Who knows how accurate it is, but interesting none the less.  See you all in June.

Pollstar is showing it too.

and yonder's got the 17th and 18th on their website as dates in telluride EEK!
thats a friday and saturday...
one can hope that yonder friday at the sheridan is happening again right?
on second thought, we shouldn't let this out yet, right?
any chance at increasing the possibility of getting a yonder friday sheridan ticket is okay with me...
even if that means there's not an announcement of nightgrass until the week before bluegrass Cheers

thanks zack. thats what i was hoping. still holding out hope greensky sneaks onto the bill somehow.

Greensky Bluegrass was one band I really wanted to be at Telluride this summer, but alas, it's extremely unlikely to happen this year.  They'll be in the Southeast that week (see dates below).  Figures that they'll even be in my town (Atlanta)... though, I'd much rather be in Telluride - first timer here!

 Jun 14 - Atlanta, GA
 Jun 15 - Chattanooga, TN
 Jun 16 - Charleston, SC
 Jun 17 - Charlotte, NC
 Jun 18 - Raleigh, NC

If they are only doing Fri Nightgrass and Sat main-stage, who does the kick off party.  Hopefully they just forgot to put that date on there too.

Nice find. Pollstar also has Oakhurst doing another Nightgrass (or at least a non-TBF sanctioned town show during festival) on Thursday night.

Jambase has them doing four nights in Telluride over TBF.

OK, I'm still slightly confused by this whole nightgrass ticket thing. Sorry; festivirgin... Where do we actually watch for tickets to go up for sale, and when/how will we know when they do? Is it actually through the TBF site? How much are the all venue passes? I'm volunteering, but I assume they wont be kicking us any nightgrass tix...

Where do we get tix for the kickoff yonder show also? That is separate from the free sunset plaza show, right?

As far as hopefuls, How can we go wrong?! I get to see Greensky up in lyons in a couple weeks  :hop but that would be sweet. Really dig some of the Avett Bros stuff, have they ever played in telluride? Drew, RRE, Sam, OCMS, Bela, or any combination there-of will keep me smilin. Trampled would unbelievable! Ooooh, how bout mumford? I heard a recording of them in Australia Doing a smaller venue the other day and the energy sounded amazing!

Don't get me wrong, these all sound like good shows, but do the true luminaries ever show up for Nightgrass? Outside of a wayward Flecktones rumor, I don't ever see names like Jerry, Sam, Edgar etc., floated for possible Nightgrass spots.

Just wondering... How common are guest appearances from the heavyweights?

The heavy weights do show up from time to time, probably once a year, to sit in on the Nightgrass shows, but let's remember, these folks have done their time on Nightgrass, for years and years and years. Now, it's someone else's turn to burn the midnight oil.

I actually saw Sammy and his wife on the street about midnight Saturday night last year talking to a younger couple. The younger couple were friends and begging Sammy to join them for a Nightgrass appearance. Sammy politely declined saying he was "bushed" (yes, he said bushed  LOL) and quite frankly, Sammy looked really tired at that point in the game, and we still had one more festi-day to go, not to mention the House Band was closing the weekend.

Let's take what the heavy weights can still give us in the late hours and be thrilled there's now new blood in the canyon ready to play Nightgrass and.... well,... you just never know who could show up to play in front of the Town Park Bathhouse or which band might think no one should be sleeping in those Tarp Run waiting lines! Heck, this entire "pork" issue was started because Yonder played alllllllll night and was walking down the main drag at sunrise looking for breakfast!

Auntie Hope  :festivarian2 :green

P.S.
I'll be the first one to admit it if I'm wrong but, I think the Flecktones in Mountain Village is a mis-print and should have read Telluride Town Park.
