... and just to keep in format of having drum rolls

suspense

and intrigue

Bob Weir, Jackie Greene, and Chris Robinson Trio

not sure what to make of this ... except that it comes from someone who's normally been spot on re: inside info regarding GD events, but who knows, maybe he's joking this time around  huh

Maybe Weir has finally put together the elusive Satchel Paige project????

Just remember that it sold out last year, so don't wait until the last minute for tickets.  I just squeaked in myself last year.

Thumbs Up thanks for the tip ... might have to make it out there!

Apparently, my rumor source has also made the claim that Jackson Browne is possibility.   He's actually never been wrong, but there's always a first ... as well as just a first to be goofing around, so take it for what it's worth (just a rumor)!

looks like it's confirmed:

http://www.bluegrass.com/folks/lineup.html

... sorry about the "cross-forum-contamination", but figured it couldn't hurt too much.

Still not sure what this is all about?   It's somewhat of an odd combo in that they kind of are variants of the same role.   But it's acoustic (according to the CR website) & I could see them clicking together in unison ... as well as being able to expertly pass things around.  According to:

http://www.chrisrobinsonbrotherhood.com/crb_tour.html

It's on a Sat Aug 20, but single days haven't gone on sale yet.

(Again, could be the long anticipated "folk story" of Satchel Paige which Weir has had on the back burner for years & years.)

... looks like Jackson Browne is now confirmed for Lyons folk:

And now time has somehow magically fast forwarded and here's the recording:

http://bt.cotapers.org/torrents.php?id=815

Would've liked to have checked out this set in person as well as the Lyons folk festival, but my brother was visiting who's a huge Yonder fan and who's never been to red rocks ... so we wound up seeing dusters/rre/yonder there.
