I don't think we will see String Cheese in Telluride.  From what i remember, Planet Bluegrass didn't like the cheese-head raver crowd that had been showing up the last couple of years they played here.  I would love to be proved wrong...but I see more likely Leftover Salmon closing it out one night.  how about both!

I was listening to Leftovers 1999 New Years Eve show where John sat in with the band for most of the night. I miss hearing that voice. It's only been a year, but his absents was felt.

To point out the bad grammar or not to point out the bad grammar...

Yes, but I can't resist pointing out Hot Sugars grammatical lapses, since he is quick to point them out in others.   LOL

It's okay, Landshark; he's my brother and I am notorious within my family for correcting the grammar of others.

I think that your lack of punctuation makes us even, Matt.

People in the know, is there any chance Crooked Still could be in the cards for 2011?

Other wish list entries: Joy Kills Sorrow, Lucinda Williams, Bearfoot, Natalie Haas/Alasdair Fraser, Tony Rice, Mark O'Connor, The Farewell Drifters (buddies with Nora Jane Struthers and that scene), Steve Martin and Steep Canyon, Dave Grisman, Bruce Molsky

I see you're a fiddler fan! Heh me too! Anyway, I was just checking Crooked Still's website and they've already been announced for both MerleFest and Gray Fox. Man freakin check out Merlefest's website for THEIR lineup!!! Makes me wish I lived on the East Coast still...
Anywho, they're in gray fox for the 16th doesn't say anything about the 17-19 so  suppose it's a possibility.... I would love to see them too!
Mark O'connor doesn't like us anymore - he's got NY times interviews to do so I guess he's too busy or something....
I would love to see Bruce Molsky play the fest... esp if we got Darol Anger and the Republic. I have this great CD called the 4 fiddlers Bruce Molsky, Michael Doucet, Darol and, Rushad. Speaking of which, I think it would be AWESOME if Michael Doucet came and played us some Cajun/Zydeco music since I've never seen anything like that live. He's making a special appearance at wintergrass this year...
PS- Can we get Darol Anger and the republic!? PLEASE!
 LOL LOL LOL EEK! huh

Haha, yeah, I guess by my handle, you would have expected more people on my list playing 5 strings instead of 4 (although, Brittany Haas and Alasdair Fraser kinda mess that joke up). Wow, I hadn't checked out Merlefest's lineup for a while - the "who's missing" thread for their website should have one reply stating "nobody." I live in the SC lowcountry and went to school in the upstate, so there were a few years where I ditched studying on exam week to head to Wilkesboro - unfortunately grad school upped the ante and that's not as easy to do now. I've seen Darol Anger and the ROS once and they were great - seems like they would fit in with T-ride pretty well.

Have fun at Wintergrass - I actually lived in Seattle for 6 months after undergrad and considered going back for this weekend - my buddy works at the Bellevue Hyatt and wasn't able to get me in to the festival - money made the decision for me unfortunately. Darrell Scott, Darol Anger, Joy Kills Sorrow, Crooked Still, Josh Williams, Joe Craven, Scythian ... that's going to be an incredible lineup!

Just realized there is no McCoury representation on the bill.  This must change!!!  Del with the boys is always a great show, and the boys are doing some awesome stuff as the Travelin' McCourys (saw them at Harvest Fest last fall with the man of constant sorrow Danny T on guitar, which was BA) so they should definitely be there in some form or another.

Love the Crooked Still nominations, still holding out hope for Steve Martin w/ SCR and am always on board for a Leftover Friday night with King Sam I on fiddle for the bulk of the set.
