Hey folks,
I'm exicted, this is my first year.
I'm not camping onsite, but figure the Meadows will be just as cool.

I am coming up solo, but have a few questions that I couldn't find answers to.
1. How big are each individual site?
2. If somebody else comes with me, they need to pay full price too, do they get their own site, and can we double up and have a twice as large site? What if we have three folks?
3. No open fires, but can somebody confirm that Coleman stoves are fine? I need my coffee and breakfast!!!
4. Earplugs for sleeping... check, is there some sort of music curfew though?
5. If a friend does come with me, how do we best insure ourselves having sites next to each other, or can we?
6. When can I get there and set up if I have all week off?
7. Where can I get more info to questions... is this forum the best place for that?

hello,

To answer your questions:

1.  The sites are not marked off, you get the space you get on a first come first served basis-some sites are only as big as a tent, you will be camping right next to other people

2.  If others come with you they pay full price also-you can share a tent or each of you set up a tent or a tent and a sun shelter or whatever-again there are no sites marked off.  each camper must have a festival pass which includes camping

3.  coleman stoves and grills are ok, just no open fires

4. no real music curfew, but as i said to my 9 year old last year as the bluegrass band at the tarp lineup played at 2:30 am-"rockygrass is only once a year for 3 or 4 days-you can sleep when you get home"-she said "your right" and fell asleep-most music is done by 4 am or so and I know no one in my group has ever complained about the music- by the way there is nothing better than falling asleep in your chair in the morning while the first bands play-you miss some, but it is great to wake up with friends all around in the best scenery in the world for a festival and sweet music playing

5.  the best way to make sure you camp together is to go in together-ride in the same car

6.  the lineup starts the sunday before the festival at the olson property-once again the sooner you get there the better your space in line-some get there sunday, but many come wed or thurs morning with access to the camping at 6 pm on thurs

7.  This forum is probably best but there is an FAQ section to click on at the rockygrass homepage

Hope this helps, happy new year!

Pat

GREAT info...
Thanks so much.

So... Does this mean people bring their cars... and sleep in their cars from Sunday to Thursday? If access to camping starts at 6pm on thursday, what do people do on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wed all day (and night) if they are lined up? Forgive me, i'm dense :)

Thanks in advance, your reponse was perfecto!

That's really only for onsite.
You can get into Meadow Park early and camp beginning Sunday or Monday if you have a Meadow Park pass and Rockygrass.

Meadow Park is the best camping spot by far..my opinion.  You'll find plenty of friends.  Find the big white shelter along the path and ask for joe.  I'll be happy to introduce you to some folks.

This is also my very first RockyGrass. I just purchased my Meadow Park today and am also rollin' solo. I just figured that I would get a double dose of bluegrass loving this summer. (June will be my 2nd time to Telluride, but I've never been to  Lyons)

I can't wait to meet some new friends!

 Cheers
