"Just one drunken, cooler-raiding, womanizing, udderly useless-duktape figure's personal opinion"

And as a seasoned Festivarian, one also born in Telluride, you are quite entitled t that opinion, DTM!

Back on the Soap Box.....

Are y'all aware that three members of NGR played on Darius Rucker's newest recording.. Yeah "that Hootie guy" Darius Rucker!

Hummmm..... could it happen in T'ride in 2011????  Evil

Auntie Hope  :festivarian2 :green

Oh, Hope, don't you go getting my hopes up now. If that were to happen this summer, I think I'd die of excitement. I'm also not sure I'd be able to wait the amount of time between the announcement and TBF.

I've been thinking a LOT about Neil Young lately and how much I would love to see him in Telluride, but it's probably just wishful thinking.

We have not heard the Infamous Stringdusters in the park since 2007.  PLEASE bring them back! And the Greensky guys really want to come back to, and they asked me to tell you that they REALLY want to come back.  So there you have it.

The Secret Sisters played with TBone at Hardly Strictly last month.  They. Are. Terrific!  And more importantly, they fit the Telluride vibe.

Levon's voice is gone.  The 11 piece band was great, the vocals are split up.  Levon tried singing 1 or 2, and it was rough.  Last year I would have begged for this show at Telluride, now, I am not so sure. Of course all of that is "Just one drunken, cooler-raiding, womanizing, udderly useless-duktape figure's personal opinion"

THat's a bummer to hear...Levon's laid claim to some of the best tunes out there! I'd like to think you were just knee deep in the hooch and it was a fluke bad show...but I've heard similar reviews.

Maybe he just needs a shot or 2 of Crunchy Frog to loosen up his vocal chords...

Caught Abigail Washburn's 45 minute set last Tuesday at The Basement in Nashville and I have to tell ya, she BLEW... THE... ROOM... AWAY. Two more free shows, 11/9 & 11/16 (Tuesday's) and I'll be there for sure.

Abby's new CD, City of Refuge, comes out in January and, even considering my bias, the mature vocal range alone is worth making the trip to Town Park next year.

I'd have to put Abigail Washburn in the top 10 Picks for the shows I'd like to see at Telluride Bluegrass Festival in 2011.

Okay, after the THIRD Tuesday in a row, I'm speaking up again!

Planet Bluegrass REALLY should book Abigail Washburn Band, for Telluride Bluegrass. She should be on Fred's stage, up the mountain and in the canyon NEXT JUNE. I'm thinking second set on Sunday, at the very least, if not earlier in the week. Kick off show in Mountain Village wouldn't be a bad idea either!

The new music is fresh, inviting and this kind of beautiful music should be played in a beautiful setting. I PROMIE, you will not be disappointed!  Medal Thumbs Up

Since Mumford & Sons was a huge favorite last year, here is a video of them playing on a balcony in England:

Did anyone hear the Quebe Sisters on Prairie Home Companion this weekend? Delicious 3 part high harmonies a la the Warbie Gals. Perfect breakout act for TBF or maybe even RG, or Wildflower Pavilion?

http://www.quebesistersband.com/QuebeSistersHomepage.html

Also it is high time Grant Gordy got booked for RG.
