I've been waiting for the traditional "panic about the weather" thread to start and I guess this is it!  Holy crap....it might rain!!!!  We are all going to die!!  Someone call the Red Power Ranger!  No worries, folks.  It's not the rain that will kill you...directly.  It's the hypothermia, lightning, trees blowing over, and badger attacks that will likely do you in.

But, with that said, I highly suggest that you verify that your tent is waterproof, that you stake your tent down very well, and that your rain flies are pulled out and away from the bottom edge of your tent.  A dry house is very important.  Also bring extra shoes, a good rain poncho, and a sense of adventure when going to the porta pot while wearing the poncho.  And, above all else, remember the key phrase:  If you don't like the weather in Colorado, just wait 10 minutes.

Don't buy the bravado - Hooch is well known for hiding in his tent (to protect his bacon) the minute the first drop falls.

Cold and rain/snow still in the forecast for this weekend.  Drying and warming Tues.  Supposed to be pretty nice for festival proper.

Forecast here.

Its been close to 110 for a couple weeks now in PHX (except for the last couple of days) and I still would not want to get rained on or snowed on..I guess its growing up in Iowa that makes me yearn for sun.  LOL

You know what's nice about weather?  Everything!!!!!!

Water flows downhill, pitch your tent wisely, little moats work wonders.  Also cheap const. plastic under your tent, not beyond edge of tent carefully gathered, so that rain doesn't fall on it, can save your home (casa compania.)

rain + sun = rainbows  EEK!

?'91 or '92 torrential rains, +40 hippies on a local tarp (who's not at Telluride Bluegrass?,) dreadlocks flying, front and center, Shawn Colvin's 1st show here, next year she came back w/ clip-on dreads and reduced me to streaming tears.  That first year of Shawn we had mud between the toes a plenty, and not too cold.

Forecast is shaping up for fair weather festevarians.  While we've had rain every day for a weak NOOA is saying sunny sunny and more sunny.  Bring a poncho at least.
