Clothing/shoes to Pack??

Hi All,

For you veterans...what attire have you found you end up wearing at the Festival?  I know there is a big difference sometimes in the weather from am to pm so I'm wondering...would a fleece jacket at night be warm enough?  What about shoes? I have a pair of Keen sandals...would they be warm enough at night for wandering about or should I bring by hiking boots too??

Also, during the day will it get warm enough to wear tank tops and a skirt???

Plan on bringing clothes for all seasons!
It can be in the 70's and 80's during the day and drop off to the 30's at night.
Water has frozen in my water jug over night.
The occasional thunderstorm can be light to heavy with hail possible, so it's best to be prepared for everything.

Think layers. Peel down to a tee or bathing suit or bundle up for a gusty mid aftrenoon rain storm.
Just don't forget to pack a bathing suit for that cooooooooooooooool river soak!

River shoes sandles and hiking boots, cowgirl kick em up boots and and uhmmmm fuzzy slippers. Not nix that.

Yeah, I will be at Ilium so coool river sounds good.  Layers is a great idea too.  Gosh I hope water doesn't freeze when I'm there or that it rains.  I mean if its a light shower mid day and then the sun comes out..ok...;O) ;O) I am in Phx so I am use to consistency but remember the midwest weather as well.

This is Colorado sista!!!!   You can count on rain.

 Dance in it, laugh in it feel it hit yer head and trickel down your shirt and pants.

Be prepared for a downpour even if it only lasts for a few. Fun stuff

Depends on your cold tolerance I need my down jacket at night with layers under it. Boots at night sandals during the day. shorts during the day with pants and base layers at night. But I am from Floriduh so below 70 and I begin to shiver.

Everyone seems to be stressing the cold nights so I'm going to stress the heat. I had heat stroke my first year, so be warned. It gets insanely hot. Cool, light colored clothing, wide brimmed hats and lots of water.

I have shorts and a tshirt in the daytime, with a jacket at the ready for rain/ wind/ clouds.

I wear a base layer and pants, wool socks, shoes, and 2-3 layers with a jacket shell at night.

baseball cap in the day to ski cap at night.

pack for all weather. plan for hot days and cold nights. Not cool....cold.

It's better to be over prepared than under.

YOu said you are from Phoenix. I'm from Tucson..
NO, a fleece jacket is not enough for night.... Bring your heaviest ski jacket with the fleece underneath..

During the day, the air temps may only say 80 but it does feel hot w/ the sun at altitude- bring normal summer Phoenix attire...


Be prepared for RAIN, HAIL, SNOW, SLEET etc...

Hippie, we'll be looking for that list!  Our newbie foursome is getting together soon to get ourselves prepared, so we'll need a cheat sheet.  Be sure to let us know if other kitchen hardware is needed to go with that sink 

Message for the AZ folks - be sure to keep a waterproof layer at hand to go OVER the fleeces and layers.  You don't want wet and cold and the mountain rains can be brief, but very heavy.

layers are covered, so.......
don't forget; tutus, sandles, sun hat, warm shoes (or whiskey), leggings (easy to slip off under yer skirt when it warms up/cools off) and your favorite festi-tops!!

One year we woke up with a light dusting of snow on the tent  So bring the warm clothes, but during the day it will be roasting, so bring plenty of sunscreen, a water mister bottle ( you know the spray bottles you can get at the hardware stores) always a life saver in the heat. I bring a couple of wool blankets to lay on the floor of my tent to help keep a little heat in there. Hmmmm what else, gloves, it's hard to hold onto your drink if your hands are too cold 
Oh and they have great vendors that sell just about everything so bring the credit card and cash. If you play an instrument bring that too. Nothing like jamming with new friends in the camp site.
Can I start packing yet, I am getting soooo excited.
