Just saw 2 Town Park tickets on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/TELLURIDE-BLUEGRASS-TIXS-2-FOUR-DAY-TIXS-IN-TOWN-PARK_W0QQitemZ330405077224QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Tickets_all_in_one?hash=item4cedad60e8

Any suggestions?

I set him a message offering to buy at face value
I STILL NEED MY TP TICKET!!!!!
He replied and attached the invoice showing that
he had bought the 2 tickets for $703 on ebay and was trying to recover most of
his original expense.  He was apologetic and understood that we frown down upon scalpers and considered himself to also be a festivarian.........
It's a catch 22 situation.........

A. Don't buy the tickets. We had the same response last year from several scalpers.
B. - Festivarians Don't SCALP!
C. Hang in there. It's only February. The trees will start shaking loose soon enough and you will get your tickets.
D. WE LOVE YOU MAN!!!!!!! (oh, sorry that was meant for Kenny, Tony, Tommy and Rob)

Just an FYI............NO true Festivarian would EVER pay more than 20 - 25 over face on tickets...this happens every year and we manage to keep the gougers at bay....we rock!

No worries   :)

If the ebay guy really DID buy the tickets for that inflated price, I feel sorry for him.  Had he known about the Forum, he'd probably not have done that.  We should make this MANDATORY reading for first timers!

bid's up to $501.00  has anyone noticed that he cut off the stub end in the picture? is that the end where the price is? I can't remember when my tix get here they go straight into the safe deposit box at the bank.

Town Park ticket? $265.00, price on EBay? $501.00 a pair (for the moment) A week or 2  in Town Park with family? Priceless!!!

Well guys, the auction has ended and I have won.  I am super excited and can't wait to see/meet everyone there.  The auction ended with me as the high bidder at $501 dollars but the reserve was not met.  The seller and I e mailed and using the advise above I told him I would not pay more than 20-25 bucks more then face and we struck an agreement.  I hope I did the right thing I was just getting antsy to get some tickets in hand.  That said here is my story followed by a few comments/questions...

I will be a first timer at this years TBF.  I live about an hour south of Chicago on the Illinois/Indiana border.  I usually hit up a festival or two a year .  I have been to a lot of the festivals around the midwest and am really sad that both Rothbury and 10,000 Lakes Music Festival were canceled this year due to financial reasons.  I am really sad to see both of them go.  That said, these cancellations is playing a big part in me taking the 23 hour road trip/adventure to this festival I have always been intrigued by.  I have some friends that have been bugging me for years to come out to this festival with them so I have seriously been considering it for a few years now.  When I decided that I was coming this year the first piece of information they gave me was the link to this website.  I have to say, what a great site.  I wish more of the festivals I went to had pages like this.  This site has truly been such a help to me so far so thanks everyone.  Give yourselves a pat on the back.  That being said here are a few questions I am still wondering about.

1.  When does night grass get announced and how do I go about trying to get tickets?  Is there another lotto like the one for TP tickets that I missed?  Do I get them on line?  Is there a number to call?

2.  Is there any restriction on what I can bring into the TP campsite.  For example, I have been to some festivals where glass bottles were not allowed.  I have been to Summercamp music festival and they do not allow beer/alcohol in the camping area but do not search very hard for it and just about everyone seems to bring it in. (meaning if they unzip your bag and look and there is none visible you are all good)  Are there any rules like that I need to know about for TP camping?

3.  If  I do not have a vehicle pass for TP is there a parking lot for town park where I can park and carry my stuff in and leave my car for the festival or is it going to be a problem for me if I drive a car there and do not have a TP vehicle pass?

4.  I totally agree with you guys and think ticket scalpers suck.  However, when I first decided to come my friends told me to get TP tickets.  Since I had already missed the lotto I started looking at other options as a back up plan.  I was very discouraged when I saw how much lodging was during the festival.  After doing a little research it seemed that some of the lodging was double or more what the normal rates were during the rest of the summer when there was no festival going on.  Isn't that pretty much the exact same thing that the ticket scalpers are doing?  Is it OK because they are a company and not a singular person?  I might be a newbie but so far in my TBF research that has been the only thing that has really rubbed me the wrong way.  Any suggestions.

1. Nightgrass performances are normally announced some time in April as well as how to get tickets.

2. The only thing you cannot bring into the Town Park camping area is guns, or dogs (unless they're service dogs).

3. Town Park vehicle passes are very rare and are meant for those sleeping in them. There will be parking available, and depending on when you get there could be close or far away.

4. Unfortunately there's no regulatory agency that sets limits on what the lodging companies can charge. It's just the way it is.

Hope this helps, and welcome to Town Park. Cheers
