Oh, man, we're excited about this one... David Rawlings Machine (featuring Gillian Welch) will be playing the 2010 Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Their incredible songs. That distinct vocal blend. Dave's furiously driving leads on his 1935 Epiphone Olympic guitar. The freeflowing creative vibe they create around them (remember them with M. Ward at Folks Fest last year?) Their unique covers - Neil Young's Cortez the Killer to GD's China Doll to Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. And, did I mention their songs - okay, I'll say it again. This performance in the NPR offices is awesome: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=123086467Or here's one of many great youtubes (please share a few of your favorites): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbo-RNw1Nu0Dave & Gil released a wonderful album last fall as the "David Rawlings Machine" called "A Friend of a Friend." Highly recommended.
