Hi Connie,

As much as I love REK, I gotta pass on this show, I don't have big enuff belt buckle for the crowd that will be there from the National Western Stock Show. Oh I can pretty much get along with anybody but I'm afraid I'd be outta my element.

One show I do wanna go to is in Denver on Jan. 16 at the Swallowhill, The Pine Leaf Boys from Layafette, LA.  They are one of the best new young cajun bands out there and not to be missed. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=18764764

Well.....much as I hate to admit....the prior post about belt buckles not being big enough rung very true that night!

It appeared to be about 1198 full-blown Cowboys  horsey and 2 hippies there  Pipe  Pipe ...   Even wearing my overalls the 'others' weren't so inviting/welcoming (guess they don't care for our kind!).

We sat waaaaay in the back by the mechanical bull....sound was not too great and the crowd were more like bar atmosphere with a band in the background.

The cowboys began to show interest towards the end of the show when REK played Copenhagen....go figure!

We ended up wishing we had saved our funds and seen Todd Snider the following night at The Bluebird  Frown
