Greetings Festivarians!

Ferg reporting for duty.

You guys have been very patient this year!  :)

OK, here's the scoop.  We've got a bunch of great stuff booked and in the works for all the festivals.

I'm particularly excited about some of the new bands coming to Telluride.  We've been holding out on our "preliminary artist lineup" cuz we've got a few things in the works we want to finish before we go spouting off to all the media, sending out "Notes from the Planet", posting to the web page and all that stuff.

But, like I said, I  figure we can get the party started with you guys.

So.... let's start with one.  Here goes.

The first announced band (which means right now) for the 2010 Telluride Bluegrass Festival is....

wait for it....

scroll for it....

Mumford and Sons

get started with your research here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pABNMCYOO4Y

and...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbaL2bnQcSo

of course, "Little Lion Man" is epic, but not so office friendly;and, if any of you are poaching internet at work, don't want ya to get in trouble.

Brian here at the Planet introduced these guys to us; and, now, even he is getting tired of me getting all freaked out about 'em.

I think Brian will probably post some more information on the band to our Facebook page and stuff like that soon. Who knows, perhaps he'll even go tweet about it on the mountain. Perhaps there are those that will retweet.

Anyhow, I'm really excited, can almost just picture this band getting to know you in the valley of the full moon.

OK, so there ya have it.  First band. Now I gotta go ice Early's sprained ankle.

I'll give you a day to digest and bring you "Band Number Two" tomorrow.

Yea, let's get this party started.

Awake My Soul, on an early winter night
To Arg like a pirate with total delight
T'will sing in my heart a West London tune
And pray, do I pray, that June will come soon

Hey, they have a banjo.... I'm good.  Thumbs Up

Thanks Ferg  Wink

I think Alison Krauss and the Cox Family would be a great addition to the line up.

You can hear a different side of A.K. voice when she sings with the Cox Family.
I just love when that woman sings out and is on the verge of whaling. She can sound soft as a whisper but when she wants, man she can really singout,,, project.

LOVE HER, NEED HER, MISS HER! Flower

And can we leave yet!!!

The shortened/EP version of Mumford & Sons debut album "Sigh No More" became available in the US today - itunes, amazon, etc.  Stream the whole thing (once, for free) here:

So so awesome.  This album has been ruling the Planet Bluegrass office speakers for months.

[ The complete full-length album comes out on Feb 16. ]
