What artists are you enjoying at the moment?

After twenty years of attending Telluride Blugrass Festival and longer at Festivals from production through cooking to fully cooked.  I don't know how it keeps getting better, the crowd, the line-up, me. . . my family, hard sayin' not knowing.  Sure did dig Crooked Stills w/ co. in Elks Park.  A.K. and Union Station always good.   Railroad Earth undeniably on time and deserving of a longer set.  Did someone mention The Dead  invited to fill the Sat. night slot, and if The Dead why not Bruce Hornsby?  How about Mark Knopfler before The Dead?  The Lee Boys and Otis Taylor and his African Orchistra real good at B&B Telluride this past month, also dug Umphrey's McGee so talented though a bit lacking at many vocal momants.  Jackie Green personal highlight of the Blues and Brews Fest though a different day than Bonnie and Taj, also Anders Osborne always good.  Back to Bluegrass or Newgrass: Bela, Bela, and more Bela w/ whoever he wants, how bout a Newgrass Revival revival, as well.  Sure did love all the Jerry Douglas presence, could always have more Eadger Meyer.  How about Billie Nershie and Drew Emmit, Stringcheese, Phish or Widespread Panic?  Warren Haynes w/ whoever would be excellent.  Heard of Frogwings get them and I'm at your service.  Whoever that was in Town Park Campground singing Peace and Love and Baby Ducks needs a tweener slot!  The Spiritual Sun. morning thang could be filled w/ Carlos Nakai . . . though I vote for Gospel like The Blind Boys of Alabama or better yet one of New Orleans' Tabernacles, or even better ask the guy that runs the Gospel tent @ NO Jazz Fest who he'd recommend, the on the ground guy, his name slipping my addeled mind, or Aretha Franklin.  Dustin, thanks for asking, whatever y'all come up with will be well appreciated by all at times and at times by all, there will always be some tarptesties, such is the life of growth and the growth of life.

I somehow forgot how much I've always wanted to have more Reggae at Bluegrass like Berres Hammond, Gregory Isaacs, or Stephen Marley?  Sun. morning or any other time, Please.  I supposse asking Bob Dylan to come would be way cool.

iriecycle, i like the way you think... the dead, or even better, furthur would be a phenomenal addition! they'd have to come up with some acoustic stuff, maybe an edition of reckoning or something, or some old acoutic jerry band stuff...
and landshark, steve martin would be sweet, especially if the steep canyon rangers were backing him up. they are on fire right now...

so, another band to add to what i'm enjoying at the moment would have to be dehlia low, from asheville. they've got two female vocalists, dobro, guitar, mando, and an awesome upright bass player. we just saw them down here last friday and they, believe it or not, drew as good a crowd, and played longer than the railroad earth show the same night!!! and jon stickly, from shannon whitworth and songs from the road band, sat in with them for a good portion of the show too... so, check them out, they're so good!

Steve Martin would be great at TBF.  The venue was packed at HSB when he played, and his set with the Rangers was sweet.  Tim came out and played with them.  A good time was had by all.

I've been listening to the Elvis Costello cd Secret, Profane, and Sugarcane
alot lately.  This is an "epic" recording and I nominate it for all possible Grammy's.
