There are many obvious names, but who are you digging right now that are less obvious?

Seen anyone since last year's thread about performers that you think is fantastic?

Seen anyone recently who you had seen before that seems to be just getting better and better?

Hey Dustin!

For a late night slot, I have only one recommendation based on the two 2009 performances I've seen from this band:

OLD CROW MEDICINE SHOW 

These guys are absolutely ripping it up.  I saw them at DelFest and they played after the hail storm and revived the whole fest after the damaging storm.

I also saw them headline the Route 29 Revue with Levon Helm at Merriweather Post and they were stellar.

I also recommend Cornmeal for the Thursday or Friday 1-3pm set. High energy get off your butt dancin' music!

Lee Boys should be considered for Sunday gospel set - as you know they play alot with the McCoury boys.

Bluegrass, Bluegrass, and more Bluegrass, my own opinion is you could leave some of the rock and other genres out although David Byrne and Los Lobos were fantastic the past few years.

I would love to see Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, especially if they had a nightgrass show somewhere as well. 
Gov't Mule would be cool do, they may play heavy and hard a lot, but I think they know how to soften it up as well, and Warren Haynes doing an acoustic Elks Park workshop would be AWESOME!
Also, The Bridge is amazing, get them there!

I completely agree with a lot of the names already mentioned such as Cornmeal (YES PLEASE!!), Old Crow Medicine Show, Rev. Peyton's Big Damn Band, and the Carolina Chocolate Drops..

I discovered a really fun band at High Sierra this year that I think would make an awesome addition to TBF.. They're called Poor Man's Whiskey and they even came out on stage wearing whiskey barrels!! Totally a blast to watch, and pretty talented too!

Lemme stew this over a bit, I'm sure I'll come up with more suggestions..

Cornmeal- They tore up Fly Me to the Moon this past year and, in my opinion, are very worthy of a mainstage slot.

Trampled By Turtles- Not real well-known yet across the nation but those who have seen them have certainly been hit by their passion, drive, songwriting, and love of the music.  I think this boys would take TBF by storm.

Pert Near Sandstone- They are a midwestern band that has gotten better and better and better and are now playing just incredible high energy string band music.  A duel-nightgrass show between them and Trampled By Turtles would be off the charts.

Leftover Salmon- I thought it was unfortunite that they were not around for TBF 09'.  No Vince Herman rumblin' around the festival grounds!  It would be real special to see these boys back in action at TBF.

Railroad Earth- They were great at 09' fest and I would love to see them back again!

Darol Anger- Republic of Strings is pretty incredible.  Not to mention, Darol sitting in with numerous bands would be a treat.

Avett Brothers- They have gotten better and better and are scheduled to release another album which is apparently very good (I have not heard it but friends of mine have).

OCMS- They kick ass!

I would agree with Greensky Bluegrass again. They are continuing to improve upon and already solid base.

I would also agree with the Carolina Chocolate Drops. Definitely something fresh. 

Cornmeal mainstage along with a nightgrass is an absolute must this year.

I would really LOVE to see Alison Kraus and Union Station return this year. The AK+US with Tony Rice set in 2007 was incredible!!!!

Speaking of, where the hell was Tony Rice last year? The legends should always be there in some capacity.

I would adore some Alison Kraus in any capacity, be it with Union Station or with Robert Plant.

Trampled By Turtles would put on one hell of a show.

Beppe Gambetta is a phenomenal guitarist that would go over really well.

I'd love to see some good piano on that stage again, Bruce Hornsby and/or Grace Potter would be great.

Darrell Scott is always amazing, whether with his band or playing solo.

A New Grass Revival Reunion would be killer.

Keller Williams is amazing, I'd love to see him come back.

Same Goes for Tony Furtado and LoS.

White Water Ramble came through MT recently, they had a 45 minute opening set for RRE and their show reminded me of LoS. I'd love to see them get a late night slot.
