     Are they?

Also, is it that big of a deal to *NOT* wait in the "tarp line" each night?  I mean, is it possible to have any fun at all without being the first person through the gate every day?   Cheers

If youre just 1 person you can plop yourself just about anywhere .
2 people :if you dont have a lot of stuff and a tiny tarp, you can weasle in a lot of places.
Bigger tarp or 3 or more people ,get in the nightly lottery lineup !! It's worth it usually though not always.
As far as grills go, if there is a county fire ban I'd say no. I always camp in Olsen and the only meal we make at camp is breakfast and maybe slap some sandwiches together so I'm not sure on the grill.

My group has a charcoal grill and I think it's fine to have one.  They certainly don't want campfires but contained grills are okay.

I'll agree with the nightly line suggestions....if you are just 1, then you can squeeze in lots of places.  Plus, most folks are friendly about sharing.  If you are 2, then just get in line in the morning and you'll be fine.  More than that (especially if you want to be kind of close), wait in line.  I usually bring binocs regardless....
