I got home yesterday around 5 but didn't want to turn on my computer cuz I knew I'd be on it for hours!  Set up the rocking chairs in the yard; just couldn't stay inside, enjoyed a cocktail while I watched a couple of great horned owls who have taken up residence in the field.  Unusual to see them in the evening like that.
Had a nice lunch at Smugglers after the load-out, and that lunch included a very nice conversation with none other than Mr. Sammy Bush.  He had his young nephew Alex with him, and it was Alex's first time to Telluride.  Sam said he told Alex to look out the window this morning and tell him what he sees.  Alex said "not much" (as far as people) and Sam told him "well, that's what it's like here when it's not festival".  I asked Alex if he'd had a good time and he just grinned and said he'd definitely be back.  They were fixin' to take a gondola ride and enjoy the beauty that Telluride has to offer.  Much more to the visit than that, but I'll keep it short.
Thank you my beautiful family, for keeping the magic alive.  It was fantastic, and I'm still on that high that is Telluride.

Home to Taos last night around 6.  I've got two days to unpack the car, do laundry and check emails before I leave for San Francisco for the weekend.  God, I love summer!  Thanks to everyone (I don't remember most of your names) for a memorable two weeks.  Especially you, Hooch.  Did you really kiss me on the lips?  Did I kiss you back?  :)

Yup...I'm home, and already off to work in tall buildings. Tough trip to return to reality from, being a first-timer. And who'd a' thunk that David Byrne would provide this bluegrass snob's most memorable big-stage moment...well, alright, the House Band was okay too. I was fortunate enough to live in Town Park for five days, sharing all sorts of things with kids half my age. Guerrilla performance by Oakhurst at 4am ten feet from my tent!! Run, Run, Run, Run! Muppets all around me! The sublime music of Pete Kartsounes luring me to the Tiki Bar. But mostly, when I think of Telluride I'll remember a little boy (I'm using his picture as my avatar) whose boundless joy was a thing to behold.  See you again Caleb!

Dang, it's so hard to tell when wearing a lampshade.  You are not as hairy as Ron, however.  Nice stab wound, by the way.  Nun attacks are on the increase from what I've read in the papers.

Got home yesterday around 3:30.  Work is not much fun, but I am off again tomorrow for some more recovery.

I had a great time folks.  It was everything I expected.

I will say there are more late night pickers in Winfield, but they don't have the location!

Well, I'm home, too, but I'm still not "here" yet.  Back to work, but checking the Forum, processing all my happy memories, and looking forward to Rocky Grass.  I am NOT looking forward to cleaning and organizing all my gear.  I must have 30 wet and dirty tarps on my back porch.

Whew - that was really, really fun.  I can't wait to do it again.

I'm home.  After a long drive with the 1 yr old back to Denver...with no driver side view mirror.  Someone smashed it at Ilium and didn't leave a note.  Boo.  I'm no longer a festivirgin and had a fabulous time!  Can't wait for next year!
