Hi all, wasn't able to make it to the fest this year, but did stream from Koto on Sunday.  Does anyone know why Todd only played half of his alloted time, just over a 45 minute set?  Just wondering, thanks.

I wasn't able to listen to all of Todd Snider's set but I do think I heard them say they were having technical difficulties with the audio link to the stage. Maybe he played his whole set but they only streamed part of it?

There were no audio link problems.  He did play a short set.  Don't know why.

Seriously? If that's the case then makes me not too happy since we talked about the marshmallow fight and it's potential negative consequences.

I heard from others that he was even more wasted than usual...

Later that day the marsh mellows got really out of control and people were actually throwing them at the performers on the stage.  It's WAAAAY out of hand.  It would be disconcerting to be on stage and have things being thrown at you.

We decided not to bring the marshmallows back to the festival this year, due to some of the negative responses on this forum.   Many had fun with them last year, but it is not worth ruining anyone's good time.

Ya know, I think the marshmallows are fun but it's not so good to whip them at the musicians.  I guess Planet Bluegrass will have to add "no marshmallows" to their signs.

For sure. We ended up in the middle; Tim O'Brien was great, but the a marshmallow hit a friend in the eye and we left to get her some help. I love Tim O'Brien and was out raged having to miss 1/2 his show because somebody thought I paid money to have marshmallows thrown at me not to hear music. Not only was it disrespectful to Tim, but to his fans. Our neighbor on the tarp had a fresh beer ruined, and to the other side somebody had marshmallow gook in his hair which a $3 dollar shower didn't get all out. Never mind my shoes which had marshmallows on the bottom.

I ended up skipping Emmylou because my stuff was in the middle of the war, and I just didn't want to go back for it. And she sound great. Wish I could have seen it.

The only thing I have to say negative about this year festival was the marshmallows. Next year they need to kick people out who do that. Really. If it wasn't for that it would have been a perfect festival.

Simply put...

NO marshmallows!!!
NO glow sticks!!!

If you get caught with either on the festival grounds where you
throw them at others or at the stage, then you should be
evicted from the festival grounds for that given night.

Call me harsh, but I have always considered both at music
events to be utterly stupid and pointless.

I agree and I am sorry you were this impacted.  I didn't get hit with them but saw a lot of folks really winging them hard.  During Emmy's set people were intentionally winging them at the stage.  Throwing anything at a performer should be grounds for having your wristband cut off immediately and your happy ass marched out.  What if Emmy got a marshmellow in her eye during her set????

We shouldn't create an environment that is going to result in PG having to get security folks roaming the tarps policing our behavior.  Throwing things around including little soft marshmellows is just stupid and dangerous.  And with those stupid marshmellows you get goo on your shoes and on your tarps.  How "green" is that anyway?

When they are searching our stuff on entrance it isn't just glass they should be looking for.  Who ever is bringing these things to throw around, please stop.

I agree that the marshmallows got out of hand!! During the Tim O'Brien set, a guy in front of us was so preoccupied with getting the marshmallows into the sound booth that he was yelling and screaming and completely disrupting the music. After he ignored our plea for him to please stop so that we could enjoy Tim O'Brien, I informed him that I felt he was being completely disrespectful, not only to us, but more importantly, to the artist on stage!!---just my opinion on the issue~

I agree with all the marshmellow comments, it is a bit distracting for the performers when they are pegged, and it is pretty wasteful and not very green.  Also it made the tarp quite sticky, which affected my dance moves quite a bit!
