I am kind of dissapointed that this last announcement still hasn't been made...although I do have a sneaking suspicion that the great Greg Brown may be added to this year's lineup, seeing as how he has 3 Colorado dates scheduled the week before the festival and nothing scheduled for that weekend. Time will tell, I suppose.

I concur. Please, Planet Bluegrass, don't promise a lineup addition announcement(two different dates were posted on your website), then fail to follow through.  If you don't know, please post that you don't know.  For those of us EXCITED about Folks Fest, its a bit annoying to be waiting for it.  Furthermore, the main reason we're excited is that YOU promised it.  So, by Friday, June 26, PLEASE have your lineup addition(s) (or lack thereof) announced via your website or an Email blast.  Thanks for listening to us!

I was going to take my little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. "Oh, no," I said. "Disneyland burned down." He cried and cried, but I think that deep down, he thought it was a pretty good joke.

(Alright, I'll try my enthusiasm over here)

M. Ward is awesome, fantastic, great choice, great announcement!  yippee yay yay!!!

Woo hoo Woo hoo Woo hoo

Why the negativity FB?    How can you call yourself "folkboy" and be so bummed and sarcastic about a single artist announcement and one of the best fests around?

come on now, go get yerself some M. Ward music, listen up and be ready for a great set and a great fest!

On another note -

Dustin - Do you know if M. Ward will be solo or have his band with him?    Looks like he's done both types of shows recently, and his website has nothing on the folks fest gig.

just curious.

Thanks!

He has asked us to call it "M Ward (solo)."  But with all the other great musicians around at the festival, y'never know - he might have an occasional guest...

Sorry for the late update on the website.  We announced it in Telluride (in the program, posters, etc), but with all the excitement at the Festival I'm just getting it up on our site today.

Here's a tasty little M. Ward solo tune:

Thanks Brian.   Beautiful song.

I saw another video out there with Welch and Rawlings backing him up.    hmm...

Here's a more rockin example.   I bought his cd after seeing this:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjkH40Mx0bc&NR=1

You're right, Sap.  Due to my folkiness I should feel good about another quality artist at an AWESOME festival.  Since we are travelling from Iowa, I was kind of hoping for a more iconic announcement - you know, Dylan, Waits - well, a guy can dream, right?  It's been six years since we've been to Folks and we are pumped!  Thanks for the good karma!

Thumbs Up Alright Folkboy that's what I'm talkin about!

And those are some big dreams -  Tom Waits would be just awesome to see.  (of course Dylan would be alright too).

Speaking of Iowa, I've put in a request or two to bring Iowa farm boy William Elliot Whitmore to the Fest.   I think his booming voice and banjo would sound so good bouncing around Lyons.

Glad your onboard, it's gonna be a good one.

(of course first we've got RockyGrass to get through  LOL)
