Just wondering as I am in a position to put it in line fairly early (a week?) this year.  Do people do this?  I don't want to bother Lyons residents, but would like to get a nice spot to camp.  Any info, greatly appreciated.

If you have on-site camping...people start to lineup right after RGA campers leave
Bohn park on Sunday....Meadow park campground opens I believe on Monday

I do have on site.  So are you saying that it is okay to get in line as early as Monday?  Even though on site doesn't open until Thursday at 6pm, i believe.  Sorry for being so dense, just want to make sure my car won't be towed.

yes...As long as you line up after Rockygrass academy folks exit Bohn park, "that is like the staging aera" However it is recomended that you stay with your vehcle the time it is in line.. You should not be worried about getting towed...

Now if you wan't.... LOL I allways show up on the saturday before and  I'm maybe 20th in line.  but ALL the academy folks get the best spots in the campground.
Most people show up Saturday night or early Sunday morning.... It's nothing like the land rush on thursday night.... Cheers

FYI: Any cars in line will need to have a person present with them.

NO DROPPING YOUR CAR OFF AND LEAVING IT UNATTENDED FOR DAYS.

More on this after Telluride.

Cheers

I think it is good policy for everyone to be responsible for their own cares and not leave them
lying around for others to have to deal with.  Thumbs Up

yes yes, more after Telluride.
 Cheers

This was a big issue last year for those of us that came early only to find a fleet of locals dropped there cars ( the 1st 27 cars) and disappeared for the entire week. Only to reappear on Thursday at noon with a army of people and 25 tarps a car for saving spots. The line policy should be the same as the tarp policy inside, empty chairs don't get a #.

If I have to take off work a full week early to get in line because I need a lot of space for our group then that's what we do. But it's discourging to drive 500 miles, a week early, and find your 50th or worse in line, and first 30 cars are abandon for the week. Not right.

Thank you Planet Bluegrass for addressing this issue.

Where do people stay while their cars are in line?  Would I have to sleep in my car so it is not considered "abandoned?"  I originally was just thinking about leaving it there for the week (not anymore), but I guess I'll just have to figure something else out.  Are there a lot of people who just stay in Meadow Park until the gates open and they can get into the on-site area?

Most people pitch a tent next to their car.

Now wait the porta johns out at Bohn are always clean-if you can stand the heat of the day in side them.
