I would like to begin this thread with a concern of mine at RockyGrass. I love the festival but I am irritated over the camping issue- specifically those of us that camp in the South on site area.
My concern is that persons that purchase tickets to the festival, whether one day, three day or camping ALL have access to the campground each night.
I learned after the festival that there were several campers that did not spend the extra $$'s for the campground and just had friends set up their camp for them. After the shows they were able to walk into the campground with out being checked.
If one drives or walks in you are checked at the entrance to festival grounds but no one checked the entrance to the campground last year on the North end.
I am thinking that there must be a better way to handle this?
It is sad that a few try to ruin it for us all and if I witness this first hand I will bring it to the attention of the Planet.... in the meantime let's work on a solution.
Thank you.   Frown horsey

They pass out numbers randomly at RG so as to avoid having to stay in line all night.  It works out pretty well.  If I remember correctly, the numbers are usually handed out sometime shortly after the moon grass set is over.

I don't find my fiddle academy post. Had a great time anyway! How fun it is to spend a week immersed in music! How fun it was to roam the grounds before the "masses" came in!
What a good time it was floating down the river each and every day for 9 days!
That is my idea of fun!

One of my highlights of RG was when I went to the airport and picked up Connie and AJ. I did not know them except from the list and seeing them at Telluride- what awesome folks! I felt like we had been friends forever!
That is what it is all about! Great people loveing music and sharing their lives!

EEK! W !!!    I was just mentioning how wonderful it was that you had picked us up AND without hardly even knowing us, allowed us use of your car so that we could go out to Red Rocks.

Teresa.........my first Rockygrass and my (and Aj's too) first time to Red Rocks,  your kindness and generosity made it a magical time!

Thank You from the bottom of our hearts!  Flower

This year we waited until 2 am only to see many intoxicated people rush ahead to grab the last numbers near the front of the line.  Then on our way our we had the pleasure of seeing those at the end of the line getting numbers, tough way to end the day.  Ironic that the email from PB this week showed a young man running to the front with multiple tarps in hand.  Is this festival collapsing under the weight of its own success?  A shame, this was my 5th RG in 10 years and it is getting a little out of hand, perhaps someone should be policing those who throw down multiple huge tarps.

Respect mon!

All the Best!!
