Anymore bacon orders?

I purchased and consumed a 1-lb. package of the hickory smoked bacon and 1-12oz. package of the garlic pepper bacon over the weekend.  Here's my review.

1)  I had help eating the bacon

2)  The hickory smoked bacon came in a 1-lb. package and cost approx. $7.00.  It tasted very good.  Nice and smoky and a little salty but not too salty.

3)  The garlic pepper bacon came in a 12oz. package and cost approx $7.00.  It tasted very peppery and not very garlicy.  The black pepper used was medium grind.

Overall... I liked the hickory smoked bacon best.  I would buy it again.  The garlic pepper bacon is good, but you don't get as much bacon for your money.  It's flavor is similar to a lot of the other "peppered bacons" out there in the stores.

Great News from my hometown University, keep up the good work guys !

"British researchers found that eating concentrated doses of carbohydrates and protein after some “over indulgence” can speed up your metabolism and provide the amino acids needed to start feeling better. BLT for breakfast, anyone?

Any amateur college biologist will suggest “heavy” or “greasy” food the morning after a long night out, as it “soaks up” the remaining alcohol in your system—or something like that, it’s hard to remember. Newcastle University researchers suggest that age-old remedy is rooted in how the protein provided by bacon and other meats is broken down into amino acids, which in turn replenish the nerotransmitters depleted by a long night of drinking.

Something to keep in mind, then, for the long-term planning of a big night on the town. Any vegetarians in the crowd want to suggest a protein-rich and tasty alternative to a crispy strips and toasted bread?

Bacon sandwich really does cure a hangover."  Cheers Cheers

In case you are wondering about the bacon we are providing....

the beeler difference
Our Heluka® pork was developed with two things in mind: the welfare of our pigs and the palate of our consumers. To satisfy both, we have developed our own exclusive Heluka® production model and breed. This system ensures that our pigs are raised with compassion, and that your dining experience will be exceptional, consistent, wholesome, and safe for your family.

At Beeler's we prefer our own standards, set by our Heluka® method.

Heluka® Welfare
When the Heluka® method was developed, the welfare of our pigs was not only in mind, it was our TOP priority!

In fact, this model is so important to us, we feel the farming system we've developed is greater than the product itself. Heluka® farms do not use farrowing crates; our sows give birth in their own private, bedded maternity rooms. These rooms have been uniquely designed to allow mamas the freedom to get up and move around at will. Bedding is provided so mamas can nest comfortably with their babies.

Heluka® farms do not use gestation crates; our sows live together in groups. Our gestation barns have deep-bedded areas where our sows are free to root, graze, and lounge comfortably. The sows have free access to a food and water court and an outdoor play area where they are free to move about, socialize, and exercise in the fresh air and sunshine.

Heluka® farms allow babies to grow in a comfortable, spacious, and social environment. Once weaned, our baby pigs are taken from their maternity room to another specially designed Heluka® house where theyare free to romp, root, run, and play with one another in their deep-bedded and outdoor areas.
Regardless of where the pigs are, they always have lots of sunshine!

 Heluka® Genetics
Because pork does not have to be artificially enhanced to taste flavorful, we have developed the Heluka® breed to deliver a good, flavorful taste. Our "Heluka® boar" was developed from an early heritage breed. This particular boar was created based on his genetic ability to produce great tasting, naturally flavorful pork without artificial enhancement.

The heirloom breed of sow on our Heluka® farms was chosen for her notorious ability to act as a good mama. Because we only utilize one specific genetic breed to develop the Heluka® boar and the Heluka® mama, we offer a truly consistent product that tastes the way pork traditionally did before preservatives and artificial flavorings were the norm.

Only Beeler's can offer you the exclusive HELUKA® product!

Oh and in resonse to Karlos, I will double check BUT I do believe that we are getting 1lb packages not 12 oz on all varieties.. We are buying directly from the growers.. And , another note, when placing your bacon orders- the regular bacon does comes in a 2lb packing option to reduce waste....

Ah, 2lb packages would be good.  Hippie Jerry and I are using some fairly complex mathematical equations to determine our bacon needs.  These equations contain not only 'X' variables but also 'Y' variables where X = Bacon Lovers and Y = Unsaved Heathens, Vegetarians, and dead people.  Our results will be forwarded in the next couple of days after a rigorous double-check by that supercomputer that won some chess game last year.

This is what I have so far......
5 pds of Garlic/Pepper - Ron
5lbs of the apple cinnamon for making wrapped dates- Jess
Put Run a Muck down for least 1 case of uncured Garlic/Pepper
we would like 4 pounds of bacon, the regular variety.- Camp Lil Dell

Any more orders????
Oh and I was wrong  about the price it is 4.99/lb.   The regular bacon does come in the option of a 2lb er for less packaging waste...

So far, there are details....Black Canyon foods ( we may want more stuff from them- they off organic food delivery)) will pick up in Denver and keep in her cold storage.. She will be picking up the thurs before. She normally makes her delivery to Telluride on Weds so that would be June 10... I'll assume there should be some Abgater's there by then..  It will be flash-frozen...  It should be  able to be kept on ice until used  or does anyone have a contact with somewhere in Telluride that will hold for us in a walk-in?  Another option, black canyon foods in located in Olathe- looks close to Montrose so perhaps someone can pick up from there closer to when needed...

That is correct for me.  When do we pay you?  I will be getting to T-Ride on Thursday the 11th.  I'd just as soon my start thawing if it is frozen solid.

Thanks!

I'm not touching that one with a ten foot pole, and niether should you Ron, or for that matter Jess... You heard me. Hooch you too LOL LOL

SUR

:peace

Why Jerry, whatever are you worried about?  If Frenchmen aren't interested in having their meat messed with, I can respect that.  Who am I to question cultural preferences?

As for your ten foot pole - promises, promises.  If I had a dollar for everytime I heard THAT one.  Sheesh.
