Are the Conference Center and Opera House both standing room only or are there seats? I'm bringing my mom along this year, but I don't know that she'll want to stand for an entire nightgrass show. Any other venue info (capacity, etc) would be great! Thanks!

They both have seats available, I believe..
The Conference center has an outer 'lobby area' with plenty of seats. The Sheridan has seats upstairs in the balcony, if I remember correctly (it's been a few years since I was up there).. Can someone confirm for sure?

 from the Sheridan website
"The Sheridan Opera House maintains the unique ability to host events that require full theater seating, partial theater seating, cabaret seating, or even no seating at all. Minor variations on these basic layouts can be made, but changes must be approved prior to the event. "

as I recall the only Sheridan show I attended 7-8 years ago, there was no seating available, in fact it was pretty much one of those elbow to elbow kind of nights.

there is definitely some seating in the balcony.I'd guess maybe 50 seats. If i remember correctly main floor was all standing. What an incredible venue to see artists of this quality!A couple of years ago I saw The Avett Bros. and Crooked Still on the same ticket. This year I'm planning on seeing Greensky.

Thanks a lot! And what about the Conference Center?

I don't recall if there are scattered chairs available in the music room of the Conf Ctr.  But I imagine the staff their would be able to accommodate a request where there is a need.

The room itself has a flat floor so a seated person in the back may or may not have any sight-line.  But listening won't be a problem.

Conference Center looks like this:

there are seats outside the main room at the CC.  The main room doesn't have any fans and it gets VERY warm inside, but you can go outside and cool off and come back in.
The Sheridan has seats in the balcony, and of course, in the bar upstairs next to the balcony.  Downstairs is usually dancing room only, but there are a few seats.

I want to say getting to the Opera House about 30 minutes early for the Avett Brothers / Crooked Still allowed us to get seats (which we abandoned shortly into the show).  But on Sunday night for How to Grow a Band (Chris Thile) getting there 45 minutes early it appeared to be way too late for seating.  Either way at the opera house, the upstairs seating leaves much to be desired in the way of legroom.
