Sounds like Wed. is the better day for Orvis, Hope. Thumbs Up Tasting starts at noon on Tues. and oysters is 3-4 pm. Justed talked to Ron and we are working on providing a little food for the participants during the home brew, as well. Menu is a suprise, but you know if Ron and the Jailhouse are involved, you're in for a treat! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

So, after brew and a little food, a little nap, it's up the hill to the Mayor's house for oysters, et al! What a great day! Can I get a Waaahhhooo! Cheers Cheers Cheers

I believe the music on Thursday (and Friday) starts at 11am.  Tarp run at 10am.

Are there Tarp Run lessons on wednesday for beginners ?

You know a man with a bad franglais accent wearing a red coat going "Tarp Parrarlelelelel"
in a patronising manner.  LOL LOL LOL

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL Seriously Mark you make me piss myself!
I've raised the question before and proposed that us UK festivirgins should do some serious Tarp training in high altitude this side of the Atlantic so as not to suffer from Low Tarpestime once we get to TBF, but no one's got back to me with a decent venue for it yet...

UselessJoe's idea of hot springs at night for star gazing sounds amazing, I am really looking forward to seeing the sky blazing with stars (in my home in the south of France I didn't think twice about the luxury of it, but what with London's light pollution I've learnt the hard way...) But I'm not much of a "suits optional" fan, so I might have to give it a miss  Frown

As for food & cooking, that's a part of the experience I'm also really looking forward to as well, cooking out of doors for a start, and getting to learn some new recipes! I'd be more than happy to be a Kitchen Wench!  Wink

Lalagay...why do you think I want to go to Orvis at night?  Not only to marvel at the blanket of unobstructed stars but, I too, am not really comfortable with the "option".  What I can't see won't bother me though.   giggle

Looks like the sun sets around 8pm and Orvis is open till 10 so, if the skies cooperate, there may be some fine viewing.  New moon on the 22nd should provide a darkening sky.  On the last night of the festival, if we're really lucky we may be able to view the Occultation of Antares. Late in the evening, the waxing gibbous moon will pass in front of the bright red star Antares, in the constellation Scorpius.  Get our your star maps and figure out where Scorpius is now so you'll know where to look.   Looking

BTW....the 'Useless' portion of the equation is Brian and 'Jo' is Kim, the Mrs. We make it totally confusing as you never know who is posting.   Evil

And Telluride Tom, Brian is in no way Useless.  Truly of man of many talents, the most important is making me laugh.   Love  Just a tag he got many years ago from an old 'Tarzan' character....Useless McGonagle, our mouthful of a last name.

Eating outdoors is fine and dandy, cookin outdoors maybe not so good I think.

I think Enid Blyton said "Zee Favous Five, zay make me piiiss myself when I read them".

Weather windy cold and wet today, last week was a false dawn.

Wave Good to see your back Mark. I thought about you yesterday. There is a radio station here that has a "classics" show every sunday and I heard Montrose and King Crimson back-to-back! Pretty funny to be talking to someone about that considering we are on a Bluegrass forum.
Anyway, keep your chin up, it's always darkest before the dawn! Thumbs Up

We have the fabulous Rick Wakeman on the radio every saturday morning.

Musics a bit dodgy now and then but the chat is very funny.

Inside every Bluegrass fan is a prog fanatic waiting to get out !

All 6 sides ? Go steady there is only so much a man can take.

Had to take the GLW to see Asia last year, that wasn't in the vows I said at NY City Hall.

I'm progged out at the moment, gonna snuggle down with some Bloooz for a change.

6 sides? that would be overload. LOL I'm not the devoted prog rock listener I used to be, not even close. But an occasional song here and there is nice.
And just because you have some dark skies and chilly temps out does not mean you need to start listening to the blues brother!  LOL LOL LOL Keep your chin up!

We saw him a couple of months ago and he was really good! His voice was absolutly as clear as a bell and he still can plaay that guitar. Only drawback was that he played at a casino here in St. Louis. Sound was not to good.
