Hi,
We're plannning to catch the train to Grand Junction from Denver.  Is anyone familiar with the best service (besides car rental) to get to Telluride from Grand Junction?

Thanks!

There's basically two options.

1) Ride along with another festivarian (make a post in "Hitching a Ride")

2) Telluride Express

Hey, I live in Grand Junction.  There is an Enterprise rent-a-car within just a few blocks of the train station.  Otherwise there are a LOT of people who pass through Grand Junction on the way to the festival.

that tellurideexpress link is dead. This is a good question though. Was going to approach it later but, will they also take you from Montrose?

It looks like car rental is the best bet.

What are your suggestions for "must haves"?

Wave might I suggest you post on the ride section of this forum.... You might just score a great ride, meet some really cool festivarians, save some dough, and keep your carbon footprint small. Once you get to festival the expense of a rental car will be wasted cause you won't need it until the festival is over.

There is a great thread for what to bring somewhere in here, maybe our kind moderators will give it a bump for you.

Good point re: the car.  I didn't think we'd have much use in Telluride.........but might want to cross over for hot spring soak.

Another question.  When to most people  check into Mary E. Ilium?
