NOT too excited about the line-up so far.  Too much poppy bluegrass soft country stuff.  Maybe I'm being a Debbie downer, but outside of the the regulars who always bring the ruckus (Sam, Bela, Peter, Tim, etc.) and a few notable crowd pleasers (Railroad Earth, Steeldrivers, Todd Snider), I am overall not too stoked.  Alas, I know the artist roll out has just started and Planet Bluegrass always seems to satisfy my mid summer music cravings.  I just hope a couple of surprises and called for selections pop up.  I also hope that John Cowan plays before I wake up.

The Steeldrivers are my favorites.  I get to see them locally quite often so I'm hooked. Thumbs Up

I second the Carolina Chocolate Drops. They get people movin'! They KILLED it at Pickin' In The Pines in Flagstaff last year.

Not to ever be confused with Blue Highway, which I am still hoping for Thumbs Up, but-

It looks like Blue Mountain is together and touring again-

They're not Bluegrass, but Americana-ish huh, I guess,- think Uncle Tupelo/Son Volt/ Neil Young-ish.  For those that like some occasional power chords in their twang- (geez, can I even say that?)

From Oxford, MS- known for acclaimed "Dog Days" release in the '90s.  Looks like they're together again
http://www.bluemountainbandoxfordms.com/calendar.html
and might be available-  I think they would be an awesome addition. Hint Hint

Check 'em out- I haven't heard their new one yet- just found out they were together again.

P.S.- thanks to those that have suggested Jackie Greene, Hayes Carll and Ryan Bingham- they're on my new listening rotation from suggestions I read here.

 Cheers

AMOS LEE!!! Great blue-sy, folk, bluegrass sound from Philadelphia.  Absolutely soothing music- would enhance the vibe of TBF greatly.

Now Playing icon Listening to: Edgar Meyer, but Amos Lee was on before. :)
