But can you see the little pokey things on its neck???  Ewww.

So I would assume pig hide is tough.  Um....how do you serve that thing?  Do people just walk up and hack off a hunk?

Are there fluids leaking out when you do?  I work in public health - I know about fluids.

Also - do you arm wrestle for who gets to dig out the tenderloin?

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Festival Bacon!!

See Bacon Here!

Hooch,

Thanks for posting those pictures. While I also enjoy bacon I have to admit the festivarian pictures were even more enjoyable to view! In fact, I applaud those consuming the Knob Creek directly from the bottle. Top notch, top notch!

These pictures remind me of my ultimate goal. Thanks, brother. I need to remember!

Wow...I had never considered bacon as wallpaper until this very moment!!!  Thanks Christy!!!  I have a few pounds of bacon leftover from the last festival.  I'll run home tonight and start stapling it to my wall!

Dearest Hippie was the one who handled the main part of the pig,
I stay away because I am allergic, well I did cook the Pork Rinds... Oh if I could only eat them
but no the pig was pulled off the grill and allowed to "rest" then processed out
into servable chuncks...Most pig Fluids leaked out in the process of cooking and would pool on the surface
in little lakes of pig grease.... oh and salt tooo.

oh man what I wouldn't give to have gotten all those piggy grease fluids.  I bet I could have gotten at least 10 mega thermo nuclear grease bombs out of one whole pig! EEK!

Now I am jealous.

Jerry....will you come roast a pig in my yard?  I need the raw materials. Wink

Minnesota State Fair Baby  Flower

Chocolate-Covered Bacon? Sure, At The State Fair

ST. PAUL (AP) ― Wondering what's on the menu at this year's Minnesota State Fair? Food officials are introducing Pig Lickers, Pickle Pops and Big Fat Bacon.

There was some hesitation about allowing something called Pig Lickers to be sold at the fair. But Charlie Torgerson, who co-owns several Famous Dave's Franchises, says the chocolate-covered bacon decorated with some sea salt is the best meat out there.

If you want the bacon but not the chocolate, you might try the Big Fat Bacon. It's one-third pound of bacon, fried and caramelized with maple syrup. It's served on a stick.

And a Pickle Pop? It's simply pickle juice frozen in a push-up sleeve. Fair vendor Preferred Pickle came up with the idea after years of serving deep-fried pickles on a stick.

The Minnesota State Fair runs August 21 to September 1.
