I'll be working in Minnesota for the next two weeks (including next weekend) and wondered if there's any good music going on.

Does Minnesota count as Heartland?

Of course it's the heartland ...it ain't Canada!

Here are some options. There are many more but these are a few that come to mind immediately:
The Cabooze on the West Bank has live music about every night. Caters to the University age crowd with 18+ nights but the crowd is generally diverse - depending on the bands. http://www.cabooze.com/pages/april.html

Famous Daves BBQ and Blues in Uptown. http://www.famousdaves.com/musicclu.cfm

The Front Porch Swingin' Liquor Pigs play at the Eagles club at 25th and 25th every Friday from 7 - 9. They usually have good bands following. The Pigs have a good crowd of regulars.

Mayslacks is a good spot for some garlic roast beef and live music. http://www.mayslacksbar.com/slaxncalendar.html

And, if you're on the west side of town, The Narrows Saloon by Lake Minnetonka has pretty good stuff all week.

If you need more, just ask. Enjoy your stay and bring your parka. This weather sucks lately!

Glad to be of assistance. Hope it helps.

I expect a full report. Don't stay in your hotel room the whole time! What part of town are you?

I will be staying in Eden Prairie... not sure what part of town that would be, but it is where I will be.

Hopefully some of those places you suggested will be easy to find?

P.S.  I will try to give a full report!

Hey MG,

I actually work in EP. It's on the west side - not a lot out here for music. As suggested, the Narrows is a little farther west and north - by the lake. If you're here over the weekend, there are a few more options. Floyd's in Victoria comes to mind and a few others. I'm sure your client contacts will have suggestions.  Good luck. Enjoy your stay.
