With two new tribute albums released today and articles in Rolling Stone and the Wall Street Journal the late John Hartford is experiencing a bit of a revival. Today at 4:20 High Mountain time Vince Herman is doing a livestream of Vince sings John Hartford. The "On the Road: A Tribute to John Hartford" album featuring many of my favorite bands: Sam Bush, Fruition, Yonder Mountain String Band, The Infamous Stringdusters, Leftover Salmon, The Travelin' McCourys, Railroad Earth, Keller Williams, The Band of Heathens, Todd Snider, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, John Carter Cash and Jamie Hartford with Jerry Douglas and Norman Blake, The High Hawks, Greg Garrison and Danny Barnes and organized by Chad Staehly. And The John Hartford Fiddle Tune Project, Vol. 1 both play tribute to Hartford. Us Hartford freaks are rejoicing...
