Forget about everything else

Hi everyone from Australia, we are still in lockdown here. Winter is coming but its already freezing.
Missing my Telluride family very much.

So, like everyone I got my email this week. I rolled over my tickets to next year. If I can afford it I’m making a donation to the fallow fund ( though like so many, I’m on reduced hours at work and a pay cut so just waiting to see how it goes).

I’m praying that we Australians will be able to fly to US next year but it’s not certain. Also slightly worried about airfares post Covid, some are predicting a 200% increase given the change in seating configurations, etc. That will make it very hard.

All up, its an uncertain world ahead of us.

I’m holding on to my faith that the love & power of Telluride will prevail and we will be able to celebrate together soon. Thanks as always to the wonderful folk at PBG for working so hard to give us options. We truly appreciate you.

Stay safe everyone, play good music, be kind to those you love - and even those you don’t

We did the rollover as well so that means that we have town park tickets for 2021, a bit early but that was easy. Now just have to survive and hope that we can get back to having festivals again. Just starting to warm up with the leaves starting to come out, tomorrow should be the first day over 70 degrees in seven months.

Thinking that the rollover rate for town park will be as high as the mountains or average festivarian in town park.

We will roll ours over. Meanwhile, I bet the scalpers are having a miserable season. Think they qualify for UI?

Ha, that is probably the only consolation I guess. I guess most people who scored TP has rolled them over, I sure hope we have a 2021 festival, I’m missing everyone a lot

Yes, we will roll on over. I'm hoping this makes a big mess for the scalpers, and maybe 2021 will be a very very special time. In your chant voice's " thin the scalpers, thin the scalpers"!!

Hope everyone is well, our camp is good. Moving into summer, we saw freezing temps as in below freezing about 10 days ago. Froze some of our Asparagus, and freaked out the wild redbuds. Otherwise its way warmer than average TBF temps during the day, think we hit 85 today, been over 90 multiple days for the last three weeks. Not normal at all.

I can't think that if we aren't having real live music by next year, suicide will break the covid curve. Pray to the entity of your choice this ends soon. May peace and love rain on your family!

Telluride Bluegrass Fest -- 2011

We donated the price of our tickets to the Artists, Planet Bluegrass, and other sponsors (fallow fund)... many of them have been severely impacted by this plandemic.

Rolled the condo rental forward .. with a 20% (I think) increase in the deposit and final balance.  Considering that the 25% deposit is non-refundable (non-negotiable), it was the best outcome available. I was told by Alpine Lodging rep that his hands are tied and they are already applying next years increased rate .. claiming that they anticipate 100% sell-rate for condo-rentals.  If that changes .. he said that we could re-address the rate.

We rolled our Town Parks over to next year.   Assuming (hopefully) that we will get confirmation of our choice via email before the June 20th deadline.  Would hate to have an issue with the form or something and realize later we didn't have them.   I am sure they have their hands full now tyring to keep track of this process.  I imagine some kind of confirmation will eventually come when they are able to send them.   Has anyone else gotten any email notifications confirming their choice?

I got a form letter from the Planet on the 13th thanking me for rolling over our town park tickets to 2021 and that it will take a couple weeks before it shows up on the See Tickets site. Talking with my buddy Steve last night and we both agreed that our consecutive streaks should remain intact. Now we just have to have the festival go off and survive ourselves.
And wish Jimbo from the Potluck String Band a happy birthday tomorrow!  Cake

Thankfully the festivarians that I got a vehicle pass from decided to roll their tickets over so I was able to do the same through See Tickets.

Now I just have to survive all the health issues that came up this year and hope that I can celebrate my 75th birthday just before my 40th festival.

It should be quite a celebration.

 Thumbs Up

I got my 'thank you for rolling your tickets over to 2021' letter today.  Is it too early to start the countdown?   LOL  Flower

We rolled over our tickets -- what a relief not to have to struggle with next year's process!  And then we made a decent contribution, separately, to the fallow fund.  I imagine many have done that, those who can, and not necessarily made it public.  There is love and generosity everywhere, showing up in many ways.  Peace out bro.

.. I got a 'Thank You!' email from PB for donating the price of our tickets to the Artist, etc. (fallow fund) and a request for physical address to send a 'Thank You' gift/token of appreciation.   Haven't received it yet ... and it wasn't necessary .. but kudos to PB for the acknowledgement.

... It is a bit disconcerting that I've seen not one other post from a Festivarian donating their tickets' cost to the fallow fund....  not judging at all .. just .. like I said .. somewhat disconcerting.

The cost of a pair of town park or warner field tickets is $840 plus you now don't have tickets for next year. If it is disconcerting that this amount is beyond many of the means of those of us that camp probably means that you are in a different tax bracket. As a long time supporter of Planet Bluegrass and the artist that played there I have and will continue support them as best as I can. I thank you for your support as well but I'm not surprised that the large majority of onsite campers are probably rolling over their tickets.

Many of us have donated separately but haven’t publicised it I guess. Its tough for everyone - like so many people I’ve taken a pay cut & had my hours reduced as a result of Covid shutdown but I am making donations to artists because I want to see a world with music and arts when we emerge. I know how hard it to survive such a massive change in our community and economy but I think Festivarians more than anyone always reach out to lend a hand when they can. We all do our part to build a wonderful musical community - not everyone has a lot of money but we all have a lot of love.

Stay safe everyone.
