Hi Festivarian friends,

Apologies if I am out of line posting a new thread, I'm not positive on posting etiquette!
I was soooo excited to go to Telluride this year - a dream many years in the making - and somehow I scored Town Park tickets!
Sadly, my dream was crushed a mere two days after the best day ever of scoring those tickets - when one of my best friends announced her wedding date. Yup, you guessed it, same weekend as Telluride.

My question is - is it possible to sell my tickets and still camp at Town Park from Mon - Wednesday sans ticket? Would it even be worth it to come for the pre-party?

Seriously about to cry over missing this - what would have been the highlight of the year! I just can't let my friend down though.

You'll need town park tickets to camp in town park. they start checking wristbands the saturday before the fest. Definitely worth coming for the TP festivities pre fest, thats the main event for a lot of folks.

Welcome fan of Billy  Wave

This is a great place to ask questions and find great info.  Thumbs Up
I had the same thing happen last Fall during GSBG 3day run at red rocks. Bought tickets 4 months prior.

Hope you get to go, the prefest is a blast and a great time to meet others and hear great pickin in camp. Including that master of smoked meats that responded earlier!  Medal  pickin

Cheers!

Hey, technically Alex is correct.

However, if I were you I would see if the Planet would let you set up a resale on Wednesday.  Allowing you to use the tickets Saturday through Wednesday, and the purchaser to use them during the actual festival.  This would not affect their numbers or sales, just create a small amount of work and coordination.  This is technically bending the 'rules' but I think you may have luck depending on what PBF team member you are saddled with..

good luck!

for the record it is only a very recent adjustment that PB has started checking wrist bands at TP during the weekend, back in the day folks were free to wander up until Wednesday morning.

If feasible and the wedding isn't until Saturday, you may want to consider attending the fest through Friday night.  I did this one year and it was still well worth it.  Of course the marriage only lasted a few years, so I wish I would have skipped it entirely.

On camping in TP pre-fest without a wristband, it's technically not allowed, but I know people who have done it and they never had a problem.  While wristbands become available Sat before fest and there may be PB volunteers at the TP entrance asking for wristbands, I don't believe they are required to enter TP until Weds.  I usually wait until Tuesday or Wednesday to get the wristband.  YMMV.

Thank ya'll so much for these replies! It looks like kind of a beast to travel to Telluride, the drive then the flight itself is pretty pricey and a long flight as well to Chicago. I'm willing to do almost anything at this point though to be there even for part of the time.

You guys seem like an awesome group. Hope to meet you at some point, even if it's not this year! And come on down to Kentucky to our little bluegrass festival, Romp, which is usually the week after Telluride. It's a blast.
