Hey, Wyenot108. I remember those 1980's SPAC marshmallow wars.  Hilarious.

Sights and, ahem, smells of SPAC are lingering memories!!!   Pipe

So I was talking with the lads from the Frames backstage after the show and they couldn't stop laughing & wondering who started it.  They claimed they caught a few too - what a great show I'am sure they will be talking about it when they go home

Hopefully we will see them next year

The smells of SPAC.  Youth was not wasted on the young.

Hey Wyeknow108:  were you camping with Gail and Greg, Scott and Tanya, etc. by the way?  "Drinking" chili beer?  I was - - with Kristen who is originally from Boston - - although I wasn't at the campsite too much.

I probably met you at SPAC a couple of decades ago too.  Perhaps, you pelted me with a marshmallow sometime in the summer of 1986? :)

Heyday by Mic Christopher. Was Glen Hansards best friend and also played in a band called the Mary Janes I believe (that album was available at Frames gigs but never saw it anywhere else.)
Mic Christopher (sadly died in a freak accident in Groningen Holland, fell and banged his head) was right in middle of his debut album.Through help and support from his Mum especially, the album got released and the song was also featyred as backing music to a Guinness advert!
Skylarkin-Mic Christopher is album. And very nice it is too.Seemed a fitting end to the show!
Am trying to get my vid of it up but the file is too big! Doh!

thanks for the reply and info, however, i think it was a different song that was being played.
I heard Glen play the Heyday song in Elks park, and have watched the youtube vids of the marsh throw
and the song is something else.  I also have some of it on video that I will try to post on youtube soon.
So I still want to know the name of the song, any other comments or help is appreciated.
maybe this will help
Some of the lyrics on the chorus were

"and I ......
this journey isnt over
it's a long way
to the house of contentment(?) maybe
the last words.......
i'm always thinkin of you

I believe the marshmallows started being thrown during the next to the last song, and continued into the last song, Heyday.

The name of the song is Fitzcarraldo.  It is actually a Frames song and a great one at that.

Aha,I sit corrected! Indeed twas prior to Heyday. Its from the album of the same name and a great one(they all are) Red Chord is also on there aswell as other classics like Revelate and Angel at my table.
One of the few bands who's back catalogue is sooooooo underrated but are little gems when discovered.
Useless fact: The band name came from Glen fixing bikes when he was a lad. Basically his house was full of "frames" and it went from there!

Oh and if anyone knows a cool way I can upload my videos I have a nice angle of the marshmallow fight from the stage!

Yup, that was me/us/we/them/they.  Hi ---   Wave

I probably met you at SPAC a couple of decades ago too.  Perhaps, you pelted me with a marshmallow sometime in the summer of 1986? :)

That's very likely - I was there in 1986, pelting people with marshmallows, often people named "Jen"  ---    Evil

Good times.    Cheers

as I approach the big " 5-0" at the end of this month, I realize more than ever how
important it is to give thanks for another day here, and to do my best to make it a "heyday"
