I see that Blue Ox Music Festival in WI is rescheduled to August 27-29, and this is the same weekend that people were saying TBF was looking to reschedule to.  Lots of artists were booked for both prior to the reschedule.

That weekend seemed to be ruled out by town council/planet bluegrass after last weeks town council meeting. Craig said they were looking at sept/oct dates to attempt to reschedule. gotta be tough trying to manage all of this rescheduling. tip my hat to everyone working on an alternate solution.

Read a beautiful post from Tim O'Brien this morning on social media.  In it, he mentioned Telluride as a cancel.  I would think the artists would know.   I'm already planning on the next gathering - whether it's this year or next. What a tough year.  I just want everyone to be healthy. We're losing too many people.   Sounds like an announcement is coming soon from PB.

The loss will be felt on many fronts. The Town will miss the sales taxes and general fun (at least for most). Planet Bluegrass will suffer all of the ongoing expenses of managing the fest without income. The festivarians will will miss the experience of community and great tunes that offer renewal and joy. A perhaps worse, many, many world class musicians will suffer through an industry that has become reliant on musicians touring to survive.

Lots of people to send blessings to. I am going to keep buying music from musicians websites as long as possible.

Music & travel & beer... not always in that order.

Thank you for this Todd... It is hope for community and music that I know we all really need right now. (Even if we experience all that community from safe distances. There has to be a safe way to do a beer share, right?)

I'm certain by then we'll all be experts in being safe from a distance. Hoping by then we can exchange hugs, and hi fives. But I can deal with waves and smiles.

Now that we sadly have closure for this year, there are other things that we have to take into consideration. What about the fate of Planet Bluegrass itself? Will they still be around in 2021? There is a possibility that the fest could reemerge in a different form. Something to think about. Anyway, we hope to see you all alive and healthy next year.  Cheers

Has anyone had any responses about tickets? Refunds or ability to hold tickets for 2021? I'd gladly let the Planet hold our money for bankroll for 2021, and make it the best yet. So far we haven't received any info about options. Crossing fingers. Hope y'all are doing well. Oklahoma has been doing in state testing not dependent on Federal, and our in State peak is supposed to happen next week. One of the giant testing and processing facilities is just down our street in our neighborhood. Luckily as a State we are still one of the lower case numbers even with our ramped up testing, but we went on lockdown March 13. It's weird around here, as I'm sure it is in everyones woods. Be safe, there's an end coming and with it lots of dancing! Cheers

Well now Buck that is an interesting thought. Exciting! But isn't it about time for Ferg to trade in the cows for Golf Clubs. Maybe build Hotels and tiny cabins and bring it all home to Lyons that would be epic. Lots of cash injection to the town. Aw Ferg knows what to do.... Medal He will be fine he is a cleaver Gentleman and is most likely buying all the TP in town. LOL

Any insight on dates for TBF 2021?  June 17th - 20th? (20th is Solstice).   Property managers are letting people put their 2020 deposits down for 2021 without a penalty.  Thought I would check.

According to last years program the future dates are June 17-20 2021 and June 16-19 2022
So we will see, hopefully the Planet folks still call it the 47th Annual TBF that way we can keep our streaks going...

Just moved my lodging reservation to June 2021. I'm going the optimist route. Rate only changed $17.00 for the full stay.  I don't know what festival 2021 will look like, but I feel like it will be a celebration for the books.

Stay well everyone!
