Dear PB,
I get that it’s super competitive to get a ticket for TP and I know I’ve been very blessed to score tickets in the lottery in the past. I also understand that you can’t keep manually running a ticket process.
However, can I point out a major problem with the new system for those of us who love the festival and don’t actually live in the US? We diligently enter the lottery every year from Australia, then fly to the US, catch shuttle etc to get to Town Park because it’s amazing and the people there are some of the finest I’ve ever met. It costs a fortune and it’s really hard work but it’s worth it.
This year I really doubt I will get there because the new ticketing system means I now have to get up at 2am, wait in the waiting room for an hour, hopefully go into a queue for tickets sometime after 3am and maybe score a TP ticket? Can you really see that happening? It’s a work week, I just can’t afford to skip four or so hours of sleep. I work all year so I can afford to come to Telluride. ( ps and have you seen the exchange rate, I am indeed dedicated )
I know that everyone has a sob story, everyone will see the ticketing changes from their own point of view but truly - a time based system which opens at 2am for some is inherently wrong. I can’t imagine that almost any internationals will be there and I think we are a welcome addition!
Please think about some other options, even if the opening time is a couple of hours later. I can’t be the only person stressing out about this - 8am in your country is terrible for working parents, etc.
My two cents worth......
Ps it’s the best festival I attend, i love my TP family and it would be really sad to think we might miss it, thanks for listening
