My husband and I have NEVER been to Telluride. It's a bucket list trip. I think we're going to opt for an AirBNB since we would be flying in from Kentucky. Would love info on getting a 4 day pass for 2020. This would be a great way to celebrate our anniversary and birthday!

They'll go on-sale in December. Sign up for the Planet newsletter. Checking here never hurts either.

Same with us, first timers. Got an Airbnb but may cancel it tonight and do the camping instead to save money and be in the thick of it, check on it, not much left, $250+/night (Chris Cooper).

Also, there is a specific thread for ticket requests, trades, and sales. But, that won't get active till after the lottery and the box office is sold out. Town Park is a bit more difficult to score but, if you really want them and you are diligent there will be plenty that come up for re-sell closer to the festival. If you just need a 4 day pass, and camping in another campground or lodging those are typically super easy to get once they are on sale in December. Line-ups get announce around Winter solstice, and if there's a super popular band announced tickets typically start moving much faster. they will be on sale before the line-up is announced. Nobody who is a regular at TBF waits for the line-up.

Dear campers, my experience with Air BNB bookings for Telluride has not been good. We fly over from Australia and book accommodation and flights well in advance. Despite using Airbnb successfully around the world, I’ve twice been bumped or had bad experiences using it to go to the festival. The first booking went ahead but it was nowhere near what was advertised ( mattress on top of a wardrobe) and super expensive. The next booking was cancelled just before we were due to arrive ( claims they had maintenance issues). By then there was nothing left in town. It left a very bad taste in my mouth. I have an excellent rating as an Airbnb user so it wasn’t personal.

I think there is enormous temptation to accept off ledger bookings when the demand is so high during festival time.

My advice - stick to official accommodation during festivals or camping. I guess it’s ok if you have a car or are pretty flexible but if you are reliant on a particular type of accommodation I’d be a bit wary of relying on AirBnb at festival time.

My two cents worth. Sorry
