I love so so days when I come home and check this board, you'all are so much fun.  Thanks for the compliment lorax lover.  I'm wondering if any musicians can chime in if they can play these songs.  Something tells me I need to find the chords for them.  It's ok, because after this stinking yearbook is done I should have the time.

I was thinking a bluegrass version of "Brick House" if we're going that direction.

My friend sang an opera version of it at a party once.  Loved that.

Good pick and easy lyrics! I've heard a bluegrass version and it's good!

I was checking out Sierra Hull on Youtube and ran into this little clip that has left me... speechless.

I guess it's proof of statements made earlier in the thread that anything translates to bluegrass... well, almost anything.

It almost makes "Jump" tolerable.  Though, for the life of me, even when listening to the bluegrass version, I still can't get that image of DLR "jumping" in those dead sexy spandex tights... oh yeah!  EEK!

Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens

One night farmer Brown was takin' the air
Locked up the barnyard with the greatest of care
Down in the hen house something stirred
When he shouted, "Who's there?"
This is what he heard

There ain't nobody here but us chickens
There ain't nobody here at all
So calm yourself and stop that fuss
There ain't nobody here but us
We chickens tryin' to sleep and you butt in
And hobble, hobble, hobble, hobble, with your chin
There ain't nobody here but us chickens
There ain't nobody here at all
You're stompin' around and shakin' the ground
Kicking up an awful dust
We chickens tryin' to sleep and you butt in
And hobble, hobble, hobble, hobble, it's a sin

Tomorrow is a busy day
We got things to do, we got eggs to lay
We got ground to dig and worms to scratch
It takes a lot of sittin', gettin' chicks to hatch
Oh, there ain't nobody here but us chickens
There ain't nobody here at all
So quiet yourself and stop that fuss
There ain't nobody here but us
Kindly point the gun the other way
And hobble, hobble, hobble, hobble off and hit the hay

Tomorrow is a busy day
We got things to do, we got eggs to lay
We got ground to dig and worms to scratch
It takes a lot of sittin', gettin' chicks to hatch
Oh, there ain't nobody here but us chickens
There ain't nobody here at all
So quiet yourself and stop that fuss
There ain't nobody here but us
Kindly point the gun the other way
And hobble, hobble, hobble, hobble off and hit the hay

Hey, hey boss man, what do you say?
It's easy, pickin's, there ain't nobody here but us chickens

ok Musicians and whoever, check the list and see if there are any other songs you'd like to add before I do the final assembly.  I would like to get this task checked off my to do list.  The idea is if there's a song you love to play and wish people knew the words or visa versa - post the lyrics.  I'll add it to the book.  I'm a little concerned if the musicians will play along, they might need music?  Suggestions welcome.

Packing for Telluride – James Buchanan
In Tall Buildings,  By John Hartford,
Hard-Headed Woman by Elvis
WAYFARING STRANGER (sung by Jerry Garcia, Emmy Lou, Crucial Country, …
It's A Great Day To Be Alive,  Darrell Scott
The River's Gonna Run  (Julie Miller) (As performed by Sam Bush / Emmy Lou Harris)
Angelina Baker, From Dwight Diller on Elzics Farewell
Boz Scaggs Lido
James Keelaghan or  Richard Schindell's “Dodge?” What is the name of the song?
Salvation Song by Avett Brothers
"The Mountain" by Steve Earle:
the Grateful Dead of Whisky in the Jar.
Gentle on my Mind - John Hartford:
Seeds of Peace -  Bonepony.  –
Lets talk dirty in hawaiin  -  By john prine and fred koller
Feeling Like I  Need to Fly by James Buchanan
Big Rock Candy Mountain
Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens
FIVE PENNIES - Danny Kaye
Tapestry - Carole King
Forever Young – Bob Dylan

Can we add "White Bird" the Sam bush version??

White Bird

White Bird
In a golden cage
On a winter's day
In the rain
White bird
In a golden cage
Alone

The leaves blow
Cross the long black road
To the darkened skies
In its rage
But the white bird
Just sits in her cage
Unknown.

White bird must fly
Or she will die

White bird
Dreams of the aspen tree
With their dying leaves
Turning gold
But the white bird
Just sits in her cage
Growing old.

White bird must fly
Or she will die
White bird must fly
Or she will die

The sunsets come
The sunsets go
The clouds Float by
And The Earth Turns slow
And the Young Birds Eyes
Do always Glow
And She must fly
She must fly
She must fly

White bird
In a golden cage
On a winter's day
In the rain
White bird
In a golden cage
Alone

White bird must fly
Or she will die
White bird must fly
Or she will die
White bird must fly
Or she will die
White bird must fly

Any other Beatles songs?

I've Just Seen a Face Lyrics
Artist(Band):The Beatles

I've just seen a face,
I can't forget the time or place
Where we just met.
She's just the girl for me
And I want all the world to see
We've met, mmm-mmm-mmm-m'mmm-mmm.
Had it been another day
I might have looked the other way
And I'd have never been aware.
But as it is I'll dream of her
Tonight, di-di-di-di'n'di.
Falling, yes I am falling,
And she keeps calling
Me back again.
I have never known
The like of this, I've been alone
And I have missed things
And kept out of sight
But other girls were never quite
Like this, da-da-n'da-da'n'da.
Falling, yes I am falling,
And she keeps calling
Me back again.
Falling, yes I am falling,
And she keeps calling
Me back again.

Falling, yes I am falling,
And she keeps calling
Me back again.
Oh, falling, yes I am falling,
And she keeps calling
Me back again.

Sugar Magnolia- by, um...duhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Sugar magnolia, blossoms blooming, heads all empty and I dont care,
Saw my baby down by the river, knew shed have to come up soon for air.

Sweet blossom come on, under the willow, we can have high times if youll abide
We can discover the wonders of nature, rolling in the rushes down by the riverside.

Shes got everything delightful, shes got everything I need,
Takes the wheel when Im seeing double, pays my ticket when I speed

She comes skimmin through rays of violet, she can wade in a drop of dew,
She dont come and I dont follow, waits backstage while I sing to you.

Well, she can dance a cajun rhythm, jump like a willys in four wheel drive.
Shes a summer love for spring, fall and winter. she can make happy any man alive.

Sugar magnolia, ringing that bluebell, caught up in sunlight, come on out singing
Ill walk you in the sunshine, come on honey, come along with me.

Shes got everything delightful, shes got everything I need,
A breeze in the pines and the sun and bright moonlight, lazing in the sunshine yes
Indeed.

Sometimes when the cuckoos crying, when the moon is half way down,
Sometimes when the night is dying, I take me out and I wander around, I wander
round.

Sunshine, daydream, walking in the tall trees, going where the wind goes
Blooming like a red rose, breathing more freely,
Ride our singin, Ill walk you in the morning sunshine
Sunshine, daydream. sunshine, daydream. walking in the sunshine.
